Hmm according to what I've read (http://www.news.com/8301-10784_3-9943775-7.html) they'll coexist

As long as they're just giving them money and not advice that's fine by me >_>.

Awesome. XPS PCs were shit anyways.:smith:

My PC is an XPS that's lasted me two years so far and can play Crysis on medium, full 1280x1024 rez.

Yeah, my PC began its life as an XPS, and for more than a year it served me well. Hell, it served me better than well, it outperformed my friend's custom built PC on 3DMark 06. Admittedly mine was more expensive, but it was a good computer and well worth the cost.
Now it has been resurrected with a new hard drive and graphics card and is loyally serving my brother. What's with all the Dell hate?

If I were to ever buy a PC now instead of building one... I guess I'd be stuck with Voodoo, I realize that HP owns them now, but they still make all their own PC's, with no HP shit on them.

Dell XPS desktop PCs are quite overpriced compared to building the PC. However, their laptops weren't bad at all. Two of my friends bought Dell XPS M1530's and they were quite happy with those mobile gaming beasts (equipped with Geforce 8600M GTs).

Too bad the Inspiron line can no longer be configured with high-performance video...

Dell XPS laptop models are known to ail after a year. I've had 2, and they have caused me nothing but trouble. Even DEll suport addmitted that they have about a 1 year life cycle if used to heavily play games.

Basically, dell sucks at making laptops. But their tower PCs are amazing. The one I have under my desk plays all my games awesomely, no modifications.

wtf, ur both wrong. You're just generalizing- the truth is most prebuilt pcs of any kind are overpriced and not very good. But the XPS tower that I bought was terrific and considerably cheaper than the equivalent PC that I was planning on putting together from parts on newegg. And the XPS laptop I have cost me $900 while laptops like it generally run $1400.

If you guys spent as much effort on picking parts as you've spent researching prebuilt pcs, you'd end up with a shit PC anyway. You can't just glance at two models and say "thay al suxxorz."
