Can't find maps?

Whenever I install maps myself, as in download them from halomaps or have someone send them to me, they don't appear on my ingame list until quite some time after I installed them. I don't know what I did to make them appear; I didn't try anything really. I am putting them in the correct folder.

edit: oddly enough, I downloaded a map from halomaps yesterday and it installed fine.

I just tried deleting the Map Set registry item and let it recreate itself upon loading H2V, but that didn't fix the problem

ive got the same problem, for some reason after i put them in the folder, go to the custom map list in game and they just dont appear... its happening with the extreme climb maps for me...
