    Anyone want to point me in the right direction to a tutorial of the best, current method to mod my original xbox ?

    I'd much rather not buy anything (Spliter Cell, memory card, etc.).

    Thanks for the link, that definitely looks doable. How would I transfer things/mods onto the xbox once I have it modded? Sorry to ask questions, I just thought it would be easier for someone who has done it to tell me, rather than me take time googling something I have never even attempted.

    once its modded, you can simply ftp into the xbox, and transfer files that way.

    all you need is a crossover cable (not sure if it works with a regular ethernet wire)

    Yeah, it has to be crossover, since the NIC in the original XBox doesn't have the ability to detect the type of network connection like the 360 does.
