COD4: best nuclear destruction scene ever in a video game?

I'm sure the bulk of you guys have played COD4. Also warning there IS a spoiler if you haven't gotten here or even played it yet. Anyway this is one of the most touching scenes I ever witnessed in a game. I really wanted to cry and tried it over like 2-3 times to see if there was a way to survive. The aftermath is crazy realistic, the chills of the sound of children in the playground. The last minute of a soldiers life. Does anyone feel how I do about the scene, and do you know of any others similar to it? If so post ur video.

Yeah, it rocked my socks off. I was so confused as to what was going on, and then I saw the mushroom cloud and went, "Oh... Holy shi-!" It was one of the best parts of the game in my opinion (don't get me wrong, the entire game was pretty cool).

I felt disheartened when I first saw the scene, even more so after I figured out it wasn't the end of the game...when I actually played it that is.

It was allright, but I kind of wish there was a little more to it. All you basically do is crawl around for a few seconds and then die... not very much interaction.

it was alright. not really awesome but alright.
what would have been an awesome sight, is the destrution of the actual targets of the ICBM's.

but sadly, the storyline, wich appears to be written by George Bush himself with all it's generic settings borrowed from pretty much any action movie, shallow "forces of good" vs "forces of evil" schemes and naive political insights, would never allow such a non-hollywood-stereotype ending.

I think the cod 4 nuke is the best. The other ones happen to slowly and don't look as cool as the cod 4 one. Also the aftermath was done very nicely and, what I'd assume to be, what a real aftermath would look like >_>.

Nuke looked amazing, I bet it'll be different when I play it through, rather than just seeing a youtube video of the end bit.

Obviously the quality and sound is 100 times better than the youtube clip.

For me, that was the pinnacle scene of COD4. It included shock, awe and sadness. It's pretty damn realistic too. I play the level that contains this at the end just so that I can see it.

I also love nukes for some reason.

I think COD4 is the only game in the series to have a solid storyline with plot twists and the like.

After the detonation in the youtube video, there's music. It's hard to make out with all the noise, but I hear chordal progressions.

You guys must be talking about the briefing scene where they showed all the KIA soldiers. Thats the only possible place I remember music.
