Still looking for a case. I'm having a lot of trouble deciding. I have a Thermaltake Armor right now, which is very large and very heavy, so I'm looking for something smaller & lighter.

Also note, I'm shooting for just under $3000.

I won't disagree with anything you've chosen but I express doubt about the motherboard and the video card. Do you really need all those features on the motherboard? I've seen a few that have quite a few good features and still manage to drop the price considerably. Also, isn't the HD 4870 512MB supposedly faster than the GeForce 9800GX2? It's also supposed to be cheaper too. All you have to do is wait until IIRC June 15th to see many benchmarks of how the HD 4870 performs against the GeForce 9800GX2.

I found this (http://forums.legitreviews.com/about15370.html) benchmark of the HD 4870 vs. the GeForce 9800GX2 on the Legit Reviews forum. If the benchmark is real, it appears that HD 4870 outperforms the GeForce 9800GX2 by a good 20% in Crysis.

Here's the link again: http://forums.legitreviews.com/about15370.html

If you want to spent so much money...I would wait for GPU/CPU fusion cores. Duno.

Do not buy that CPU HSF. Buy the one I got, I'll link you when I get around to it.

Cheap and extremely effective, near the same temps as the -insert whatever its name is, I fucking forget- for half the price. The direct touch heat pipe design is great. Only one flaw, which isn't even that bad, its based on Intel's LGA775 pin locking HSF clamp shit, which is better then a back plate install, for some, but annoying at times. Only thing you'd have to worry about is if you plan to move it a lot and violently too.

Drop that HD to a Seagate 320GB and save about 100 bucks. And inspect your damn PSU.

Also, not you ghost, Aburdhamahamahamahmasfhsdlkfjs;dlfkjl'safkdjsldkfj safjdfa'fdkjsfkid.

Ooooh sorry atty! It was 69.99, not 169.99! I don't know how that 1 got there!

Also I was going to get the Seagate Barracuda 320gb With Perpendicular Recording (whatever the fuck that is) for the same price, but it went out of stock, So I chose this one after reading the reviews.

The only thing I don't like is the BFG 9800GX2, get EVGA. You could also get a better cooler, I'm not sure which ones are good anymore but I know from experiance the 9700 isn't that great. For a case I would say CM Stacker 830, but it's pretty huge so I'm not sure you'd want it.

Also, why did you rep me saying fusion cores are funny?

BFG or eVGA doesn't really matter...I'd prefer the eVGA but I'm running an Nvidia chip from a polish company right now and it's running great as well. :D

it's a hell of alot smarter then blowing another 3 grand for a slight performance upgrade.
Wait till the next series of cards mate.

because atm your performance to cost ratio is like 1 : infinity

I'm actually not looking for much of a performance increase right now. We're actually probably going to get a $200 GFX card and build a smaller one. Also, I'm selling my current computer now before it loses much more of its value.
