Hey guys, a while back I stumbled upon this rather interesting web series. I really enjoyed it and am now a fully-fledged fan. So I though I might show you the intriguing series that is, “Afterworld.”

The story is as follows:

Afterworld is a fully immersive sci-fi series with 130 episodes comprising season one. A new kind of computer-animated entertainment that blends video games, graphic novels and anime into one dynamic experience. Afterworld is about life on earth after an inexplicable global event renders technology useless and 99.9% of the population is missing.

The story follows the adventures of Russell shoemaker, who wakes up in New York after this event and is compelled to walk to Seattle in the faint hope that his wife and child have survived.

Russell’s own harrowing journey, from technological dependence to total self-reliance, mirrors the world he discovers along the ay, where other survivors are rebuilding society in strange and surprising ways. Piecing together the complex mystery of what caused the global event, Russell eventually paves the way for the bold new future of mankind.

You can find both seasons one and two here:

holy. shit.
Now idk if i should + or - rep you for that.
i mean the few episodes on youtube were great and left me craving for moar but those capitalist pigs impose their will on my internest and discriminate me for my nationality. thats cold blooded internet imperialism right there. so here i am with my newly created need without the means to fulfill it.
I need my fix of MOAR FFS!

If 99.9% of the world went missing, there' still about 6,000,000 people left...I think

That's too much

Not really. Think of how damn big the world is, how many isolated groups there would be.

Good to see that those of you that have watched some of the episodes are enjoying them. If you’re getting bored or don’t have much confidence in the series after watching the first few episodes I give you my word that the story really picks up and become a lot less black an white in a short while.

You see a lot less of the "ZOMG it twas terrorists." You also get several different plot points and characters added to the mix. It’s not all just about his journey to Seattle but the new evolution of the world
And the insanity that accompanies it.

Oh and if you’re watching the series via youtube, I would strongly recommend watching it on the afterworld website. Lot better quality (for what it’s worth) and the atmosphere just suites it.

I did watch it all in one sitting. The mountains are boring as fuck. I thought it was extremely well written, and if more movies were written that way, then things would be awesome-er.

100 episodes in, gonna finish the last 30 tomorrow morning. So far, the first half seemed great, and so were the parts about life lessons. But then I started noticing there were a barrage of episodes about Russ learning new life lessons and I started getting bored and wanted to know more about the Fall, how it was for the first half about him investigating the Fall. Right now, it's just more "life lessons" episodes, and watching what has happened to the world after the fall. I'm not saying they aren't good, I'm just saying that after watching like 50 of them, it's time to get on with it and try to find out more about the Fall and what/who caused it.
