So, I'm bored, and I realized, how far I have to travel every day to school.
Let's see if anyone can beat my commute to work/school/etc
I wake up at 6, bike to the pier, catch the 7:00 ferry and do this:

How long does that ferry take?
Half an hour. (There's two kinds of ferries a 'fast' and a 'slow' the fast ferry takes 30 mins, slow takes 50-60 mins)

How far is it to get to school after you've gotten off the ferry? (Do you also bike to school from there?)

start at red->blue->yellow->green

First class is in the room that the red line leads to... I usually get out of there around noon and usually head over to the sub shop(blue to yellow)... eat a quick lunch and head over to my lab(yellow to green) Then I'll usually stop by the grocery store (end of green line) before heading home... (follow red line back)

Lol, nah, I take a bus for about 20 mins. My trip may look far, but it doesn't take that long. 5 mins on bike, 30 mins on ferry, 10 mins waiting for bus, 20 on bus.

In my school, anyone who has to commute for that long is obviously breaking VSB rules by living outside the district but registering under a fake address. I get driven to school (about 5 minutes), since my school is conveniently on the route to my dad’s office building. He drives to work every day so he drops me off on the way. I still have to walk for about 30 seconds to actually get into the school since he saves time by not actually driving into the carpark. When weather is poor for driving (i.e. snow), I walk for about 12 minutes. When it’s an emergency, I run for 7-10 minutes.

i drive to work.
taking careful watch of the exact time i get into the car.

i have little marks (checkpoints if you will) where i check if i'm there on the exact right time.
This is to ensure that i dont get to work any earlier then 5 minutes before it starts.
90% of the time by the time i park, pick up my tools and start, i have about 30 seconds till my official start time.

Yep i got it down to a fine art.
all up it takes me between 10-12 minutes.

About a 4km drive to school every morning and afternoon. On a good day it'll take me 4 minutes, peak traffic for Gisborne it'll take me 5-6 minutes (a line of about 5-6 cars at a roundabout on the way). It's around a 10 minute bike, but I prefer driving ;)

Due to OPSEC policies and my own personal safety I can't provide you with the exact path. From May 12th to at least June 6th I have to drive from one of the points in the bottom right hand corner to one of the points not in the bottom right. Hooray 40+ minute commutes...on the fucking autobahn...with no speed limit :suicide:

From top to bottom.

I have to walk to the station, then get whatever bus I want.
And since Bus travel is free w/ an Oyster card for <16 its awesome.

Do you go to West Island School? My cousin graduated from there (he lived in Hk and is studying at the National University of Singapore)

I know a guy who lived in Germany until he was 14. The Autobahn, or at least the parts he ever went on, were almost always clogged up like traffic.

The only time you could go really fast was at like 2 in the morning.

Whoa I guessed right, kinda figured it out from the location you showed us (I can navigate through HK fairly well).

My cousin had a long commute too but he never had to take the FERRY...he didn't even have to get driven across a bridge.

The only time it gets clogged up is when some fucking german moron is just cruising down the fucking thing in the LEFT HAND LANE <> taking his sweet fucking time passing the fucking truck to his right. If you're going to drive in the fast lane, LIVE LIFE LIKE ITS THERE TOO AND HIT THE GAS! Fucking germans -_-. Then you have shit like construction which narrows the road down to a SINGLE fucking lane sometimes. Holy. Shit. I could kill someone during those days.

Other than that, I live it up at about 220km per hour down the road (since the gov't vehicle I use locks at that speed, though it can go faster :/ )

Lock is usually at 250km/h...so 160mp/h...you can unlock it for 2000$ and 1 month extra drivers lessons.

The power is just amazing :awesome:
Also, many accidents are caused by Americans driving over 200km/h for their first time without experience. Even a 1km long curve at that speed is fatal. It's not going to remain for long like this...they want to put up restrictions like in America because at those speeds you waste about 40 liters per 100km which is more than unacceptable. All the average cars here can go easily over 120mph.

Anyway. I have to run 8 mins to catch the train then ride the train then walk again. Overall it takes 35 mins...and about 4km of walking/running. :D

Not really, my actual commute is about an hour and ten minutes one train, I think it's about 16 or 17 miles. I wanted to bike to my school but I'm scared of getting runover and I would have to wake up extremely early.
