Just wondering what people typically use to play music on their computer, and not what they use to sync music to their portable device (iPod, Zune, generic MP3 player, etc).

Personally, I like WMP 11. The default skin looks nice and I like how it operates, sans the limited options for syncing to external storage.

Also, keep your corporation wars the fuck out this thread, kthx.

I used to use iTunes, but now I have a bunch of really hard to move around DRM music. Someday I'm going to burn it all to CDs, and then listen to music again. For my small collection of temporary music, I've been using VLC Media Player. It's simple and efficient.

Media Player. Always been the easiest to use plus I like the new theme.

Wow, actually I was just about to post about music players, iTunes, specifically. See what iTunes does with music?

Huh, I must have missed that song when it came out in 2012.

I use iTunes, but only because I use the store for purchases. I pride myself on not pirating music or software. Hardware, on the other hand... Ar matey, we be raidin' an' plunderin' electronics from Best Buy today!

Zune, because it's always open to sync with my zune and I don't want to open anything else. It's not that terrible with the newest update honestly.

If I'm playing a song I already have downloaded, WMP 11. About 95% of the time though, I listen to pandora online radio. For videos, VLC media player.

WMP 11. Mainly because I use it to sync music to my Sandisk, and that it fits snugly on my taskbar :-)

WMP11, because Winamp uses more processing and I like it's clean cut to the chaseness. Winamp looks funky, and is cool, but for some reason out of the 4 times or so I've had it, I've never felt phased by uninstalling it. Dunno why, theres just something I don't like about it. I don't even know what it is, I'm just going by the amount of times I've downloaded, installed and uninstall'd the thing.

Why is VLC, the greatest cross-platform media player, not on there? (And for playlists I use Amarok.)

iTunes for music, WMP for video. Force of habit.
Dis ^. Mostly due to the fact that I use ipods, and a macbook pro which leeches from a single drive for it's music whether or not I'm booting into macos or windows. If it's a purchased video or a video for the ipod that i converter though, I use itunes.

RealPlayer. I hate playlists. I want to choose my own songs, in my own order.
I hate realplayer (old school hater, 2001). Why are those baboons still even in business? I thought they had some scandal going on a while back.

VLC for videos and whatnot. I do alot of torrenting (isn't taboo to say that here is it? If it is please PM me.....not punish me) and the such so I use VLC.

For music I use Xion http://xion.r2.com.au/

This.

Also, I mostly use it because it's lean and not bogged down with a bunch of stupid features that lag me in CPU intensive games. For me its the gaming media player.

Yeah a friend of mine told me about VLC, its great for playing DVD's that I have. I had bought a DVD-decoder and then relized I could use VLC. :gonk:

Both iTunes and WMP feel too big and clunky and filled with unimportant crap. I used to use iTunes more before my ipod got stolen, but nowadays I just stick with Winamp. Small, simple, and sleek.

For videos, Media Player Classic.

I think its horrid because I dont like it....

I'm incredibly shallow when I comes to opinions....

Its not bad really, just never had positive experiences with it. Too button-y for me I guess :/

I use Winamp. I have no real reason to except out of habit. Ever since as long as I can remember, we had winamp installed on every machine we've ever used, so when I got this relatively newer one, I just got winamp.
I guess its also more light weight than Media Player when I'm doing resource-intensive tasks.

WMP... it's the stock media player and there's nothing wrong with it. Drag and drop the fuckin songs you want into the thingy and they play. You don't even have to save the playlist if you don't want. Simple as dragging and dropping what you want to hear.

imo.

No one here uses Songbird (http://getsongbird.com/)? If it supported my iPod touch, this would be my sole music player.

Oh and VLC Media Player (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/) for videos.

I used to use Winamp all the time.

Then I find out how to utilize and see that WMP 11 launched faster than Winamp :o
