That Bloom Mod thing...

I looked at Dangaroo's screenshot post (http://www.modacity.net/forums/showpost.php?p=264690&postcount=177) on CMT's SP mod.

I tried it myself.

It didn't work.

I placed all the files in the CE folder, everything overwritten, ran it, no difference, I used one of the presets, still nothing!

And it turns out I had to set UseEffect to 1 under the Globals section of the .ini file.

And thanks to l33t for setting the bloom levels to high.

Oh halomods.com hides all the attachments if you are not a member. It is their way to get people to register. You have to log in to halomods.com then visit the topic in order to see the file attachment.

Yeah, exiting XFire fixed it. Works perfectly.

Don't know why but the bloom seems a bit glitchy. I'll walk into certain areas and the ammount of bloom will increase dramatically, while in others it's barely noticable. Wierd.

Whoa... did you get it working with Yelo Battery as well? They both have an identically named file, how'd you pull that off?

Well I couldn't get Yelo Battery to work so does that mean this won't work for me as well? Because I don't want to try it then have that same disappointmen as before.

Oh yeah I forgot to tell it's just the FOV hack, not Yelo.

Also, this addition makes campaign a little bit harder and scary because of all the darkness. it gets annoying on Library though >.<

yea, I did that but actually messing with the .ini file till I got it to look good enough for my own standards was a completely different story... when I first loaded it, it didn't run to well, well it wasn't very intense, and for some reason it seemed to be turning on and off (something to do with fading in an out or something like that I messed with some values other then the bloom power ones and it started working better) I also realized that anything above 30 in the day time bloom thingy is pointless because everything becomes hell... lol

Heres the bloom settings that I liked, although I'm still not to sure about the "night bloom settings" they are kind of odd, if you make them too high and you walk anywhere near shadows that were set by the lightmaps everything becomes wayyy to dark (mostly the bases on sidewinder I noticed this cuz of the shadows)

I'd show pictures but my gfx card is being all pissy right now, its a pos and I need a new one. (stuff flashes on the screen, random planes and polys, some stuff disappears, I have no idea how to fix it, it comes and goes, sometimes goes away if I restart, I can't fig out what causes it)

Can it be applied to only a certain color intensity? For example, everything on the bright end of the spectrum, REALLY bright end, to white only? That way it realistically renders the bloom rather than on anything just plain old light looking. I might test this on my map then.
