So a bunch of my files got accidently deleted from my hard drive yesterday, it's an external harddrive, I haven't installed, removed or barely modified anything since, what are the chances of me being able to get it all back, and how?
Whats the best program you guys know of/use, and can it recover all kinds of data?

Doesn't Windows come with something that lets you put everything the way it was on a certain date? If I'm right, the data doesn't get erased from your hard drive, but you just can't see it anymore, because there's only a limited amount of stuff you can see, so, with the Windows System Restore (I think that's the name), you can go, and tell the computer to go back the way it was on, let's say, June 13th 2008.

System restore doesn't recover deleted files. There's a good change most of your stuff is still there, so go find one of the many file undelete apps out there.

But all the programs I've used are complete shit, so i was wondering if there was anyone who had a specific program they know works well.

Tuneup undelete, works for me. It's a part of tuneup utilities suite, and the good news is that there's a trial version you can use for some days.
