First thoughts:
When one takes a look at Battlefield: Bad Company, it looks very similar to Battlefield 2, at least gameplay wise. I, myself, am not a fan of the Battlefield series; it's a little too taxing on the system for my taste. So, for this reason, I am pleased that Battlefield has made the jump to consoles.

Singleplayer Review [SPOILERS]:
The level starts with a cutscene that introduces the player to their character, Preston Marlowe. The game takes place in Eastern Europe, as with many modern combat shooters that have recently been released, and follows the miscast B-Company on their adventure to become rich. In the demo level, Green Acres, your squad is told to advance into a small Russian town and hold it until the rest of the convoy shows up. After slaughtering several APC's full of troops and destroying a BMD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMD-1), you hook up with the convoy to push farther into the country. As you would expect, the convoy is ambushed and completely destroyed and only your squad remains, and you have to destroy the enemy artillery positions.

Multiplayer Review:
Much like Battlefield 2, there is an armament-unlocking system incorporated in this incarnation of the franchise. However, unlike Battlefield 2, there are only five squad classes, unlike the previous seven classes. The Medic and engineer class have been combined into a new Support class, which carries both a power-drill and a medipac. The new Demolitions class replaces the Anti-tank class, and also carries a shotgun like an Engineer. Spec-Ops and Sniper are reborn as Specialist and Recon, respectively. Assault has remained Assault. For each class there are six weapon unlocks and one 'gadget' unlock. One unlock and the gadget unlock are able to be "purchased" with credits gained by each level-up.

Unlike Singleplayer, bsp destruction plays a major role in multiplayer combat. For example, if there is a sniper hidden in a building, instead of lobbing a grenade into the small hole or sending a CQB soldier into the house, risking your re-enforcement count, you can call in a laser-guided bomb to level the house. Scenarios like this play out throughout every game in the only multiplayer map in the demo, Oasis, and it is vital to learn how to use the environment to your advantage. In the demo, you can also directly pilot the artillery, providing better support to your front-line troops.

Also like the previous Battlefield, there are vehicles parked at each compound for use by that team, the list of vehicles are as follows:

United States Armed Forces:*
Light Vehicles:
HMMWV
Desert Patrol Vehicle

IFV:
M3 Bradley

MBT:
M1A1 Abrams

Attack Helicopter:
AH-64D Apache Longbow

Middle Eastern Coalition:*
IFV:
Stalker 2T

MBT:
Black Eagle

Attack Helicopter:
Ka-52 Hokum B "Alligator"

* This is not the complete vehicle list, just the vehicles observed in Oasis.

Summary and Conclusion:
I will admit, I loved the demo. I do not know why people continue to say "omg ea'd"; this game's multiplayer is outstanding for a console game, and it really captures the Battlefield spirit. While playing this game, I really feel like I'm on the battlefield, attack helicopters screaming over head while the rock wall I was just taking cover behind gets obliterated. The bsp destruction makes you feel like there is no where to hide, and this desperation makes the fighting a lot more intense. I wasn't all impressed by the singleplayer though, however the new trailers and such makes it look quite fun. There is also quite a lot of humor, strange for a game of such startling realism.

For later reviews... the single and multiplayer review section is more of a synopsis. Try to expand it slightly. It's good to not follow the mold sometimes... but you should spend a LOT more time than a paragraph actually reviewing the content (then branding a number) of a page-and-a-half review.

Elsewise, decent review.

Here are my thoughts on the game:

It's alright, control layout is pretty crappy, sensitivity sucks, i feel like a catatonic patient trying to fight a war. Movement is too stiff. Graphics are an improvement but still aren't great. Field of view feels small as hell, or there's just something about your view that i don't like, i just feels to narrow. Model detail is still shit and model accuracy, is god awful. They are the people i would love to rip open a new one for shitty accuracy. and they STILL CAN'T FUCKING RELOAD THE M16 CORRECTLY. Come on already. Models just suck. period. And the worst part is you basically have to physically stop moving before you can aim down sights after sprinting. Also, I don't like how every assault rifle has a 50 round clip (despite the fact that the rifles only support 30 rounds or 100 rounds >_>) and it takes at least 20 shots to kill someone. It's fucking impossible to tell if someone is running up behind you. and usually first to shoot wins.

Here's what i do like, Blowing shit up, Sounds, Being able to respawn with your squad rather than at the same respawn point. That's a cool idea, however they need to let you cycle through your players rather than a random one. Maps...well the one you get to play, seems smaller then their older maps, therefor walking to the enemy does not seem like such horrible nightmare anymore. Also campaign seems like it has a cool story line.

I'd probably give this 6/10...maybe 5.5/10, it's still pretty fun but they still fucked shit up. I may still have to buy it though cause it is entertaining.

Peng is a perfectionist. I like this game. There are a couple of minor bugs, but nothing on the scale of what BF2: Modern Combat (massive failure) had.

It ain't for PC, laggy. It's the kind of thing that, if it were released on the PC, people would complain about it being too simple :downs:

The controls feel slippery, and combat is meh. I've never played a Battlefield game, so that might affect it, but it just doesn't seem fun.

tbh, the only selling point this game has is the fact you can blow shit up. if it weren't for that than it's about at par, if not worse gameplay than bf2.

I find the demo really addicting, but like Penguin said the controls are really stiff. I also dislike the horrible lead with the sniper rifle, and the time between shooting someone and the hit registering. Way too many tanks too. It seems like every time I go to defend the fucking gold crate, some asshole in a tank blows the building to shit. Overall its a fun game though.

Also, I don't like how every assault rifle has a 50 round clip (despite the fact that the rifles only support 30 rounds or 100 rounds >_>)...

Or 45 rounds (ArmaLite extended), or 40 rounds (AK extended), or 60 rounds (AK quad stack)...

I could go on, but in short, I agree.

I think I'll just wait for Battlefield: Heroes....

I've been playing multiplayer for this for a little bit now, and it's starting to get a little fun. The controls are still a nuisance, but I'm getting better at aiming for targets. I may have to get the full game when I get some money.

Also, has anyone noticed that one of the player death sounds in multiplayer sounds like a Warcraft 3 peasant dying?

I'm the guy on the top. The guy below me is the guy with the next most points. Rampaging around as support in a tank and blowing up all the gold crates with your cannon really pays off :awesome:

I didn't even die until our team pushed the enemy back to the Streets.
