i've been wondering.

how do u add shields such as the elite that enclose a ship and other models? and impact make the shield visible. i would also like to know if the same applies with oval shields like those seen in scifi movies.

i haven't posted anything in a while so i would also like to have your comment on this new stargate model. alot of cosmetic updates(i think i spelled "cosmetic" wrong).

I prefer the Atlantis gate design over SG1 anyday. :p
That texture looks really gritty and gross. I'd change it.

BURN

Stargate Atlantis is terrible D:

Also, I assume the gate's going to be dark gray... not that weird light gray in the end right?

nice model and texture, did you do it yourself?

to answer your question give the plasma a collision geometry like the shield of the jackal just check out the properties in guerrilla... i hope i explained that ok... im still rusty.

for an idea, set up control boxes just behind the stargate and script vehicles to tele.

Look into the character bitmap and shader tags. See if you can see anything in there. And their damage effect tags.

Import the sentinel model, and look at its tags for your answer.

Sentinels and Elites have similar shield shaders.

The sentinels have a round, sphere shape while the elite plasma just covers the whole elite model like a blanket.

To add a shield, simply go to the tag, look right below physics. You should see something along the lines of: Modifier Shader. Thats where you add the shader for those shields.

Directory from the tags folder (meaning locations):

Sentinel
-------
tags\characters\sentinel\shaders\sentinel_shield.s hader_transparent_plasma

Elite
-------
tags\characters\elite\shaders\shield plasma.shader_transparent_plasma

Edit: Something is wrong with the poster, it appears that it makes a space inbetween the s and h in the shader_transparent_plasma part of the sentinel shield. Ignore it.
