I don't really remember if you can control the server externally, but you could use a handy tool made awhile ago here...
Ok nevermind, the author of the tool took it down.
You can PM Vicky (http://www.modacity.net/forums/private.php?do=newpm&u=1192) about it.

Yeah i recommend the server tool also. I think it's also posted at halomaps.org. If you can't get it or figure it out remote desktop is a wonderful thing.
Just go to your server computer and run CMD. type ipconfig/all
Look for the local ip number that starts with 192. and use that local ip address to connect to your server using remote desktop from your gaming computer.
Or look up teamviewer if you can't figure that out. That's another free app that comes in real handy for that and for outside help. It's real simple and secure.
I'd seriously try the server tool first unless your running your server on Vista because it does work correctly on vista. That's a great and useful tool though, It's first function was to kill the X delay and that's a good way to keep people from quitting your server.
Hope i helped.

readme is included. You'll need it on your gaming and server computer. Open the server tool, open h2admin.exe with CMD and set the tool to host on your server, and client on your gaming comp. than just type in your local ip and the password you selected. Again more detailed description on the readme included.

Getting the feeling you're trying it to run on a server running on vista, it'll run but it won't do what you want it to do so for now you'd better try remote desktop for example.

Yes, the H2Servertool will not work on vista. My servertool cant do half of what vickys can do so I choose not to release. (but it works on vista)
