I know I'm a bit late, seeing as Rock Band 2 was officialy announced on June 30th. Oh well.

In case you haven't heard already, Rock Band 2 is set to have an exlusive debut on the Xbox 360 this September. It will be released on other platforms later. I say later because I'm not too sure as to when.

Anyways, here's an article (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/885/885168p1.html) from IGN that has some "interesting" info on the game, if that. Not much is revealed as of now, so we'll have to wait until E3 which is set for the week of July 14.

And speaking of E3, who else is hyped up about some of the games that are planned to have some more info "revealed". Here's a few I'm excited about:

- Halo Wars
- Far Cry 2
- Starcraft 2
- Ghostbusters: The Video Game (It's going to be awesome okay )
- Half-Life 2 Episode 3 (Not sure if this one is actually going to make it to E3 but it's on the site.)
- Gears of War 2
- Rock Band 2

Anyways, check out the full listing of games here (http://e3.net/games).

Well, post any thoughts that you have on this year's E3 and/or on Rock Band 2.

EDIT:
E3 starts today (July 14). Microsoft is having their press confrence as well as Sqaure-Enix and Electronic Arts. Be sure to go to Gamespot (http://e3.gamespot.com/live.html?tag=event_nav;live), Gametrailers (http://www.gametrailers.com/e32k8.php), and G4TV (http://e3.g4tv.com/e32008/index.html) for coverage on events as they happen.

I agree with your list of games, though I hope that they show some stuff about Star Wars : Battlefront 3. I also want to see more on Peter Jackson's new Halo game.

I can't wait to see the coverage, game 'announces' from some corners of the industry have been quiet for some time, so i can't wait for some.

There is some 'lame' rumor that 'Halo 4' will be announced at E3, I'd rather take bets on 'Bungies next project' (which we may be teased about on Monday 7/7) rather then just Halo 4. Also most probably some news on Halo: Chronicles (Peter Jackson's Halo Project)...we hope.

I'm looking forward to some more Halo Wars stuff aswell as Gears 2, Ghostbusters and Starcraft.

I'm not sure HL2:EP3 will be there but if it is.. wow awesome, two ended so 'cliffhangerful' so i can't wait.
But... unfortunately it will not be there...

UPDATE: Valve has stated that Half-Life 2 Episode 3 will not be shown at this year's E3. Sorry for the confusion!

Other then that from Sony's side I'm looking forward to some more Littlebigplanet, Killzone 2 and Resistance 2.

Also we shouldn't forget... Lord of the Rings: Conquest, SW: The Force Unleashed, Spore, Dawn of war 2, Doom 4 and Dead Space.
Wow I'll be strapped for cash this fall with such a good line up.

Oh and rumors of a 'Mass Effect 2' announcement, I'd say no, because EA would have said something at their recent 'event' which i don't believe they did.

But anyway, looks to be a good lineup this year at E3, can't wait.

Oh and Rock Band 2, nothx, it came out here in the UK like not long ago, so me and my friends will stick with Rock Band for years, no need to update to 2...for some time.

I'm looking forward to Gears of War 2 and Halo Wars the most, along with whatever the other Halo game is. Borderlands looks fun too. I'm interested in the new Banjo-Kazooie, but I was hoping it would be more like the previous N64 titles.

I'm interested in Far cry 2, it may be what crysis touted to be when it was first debuted.

Remember though, Far Cry 2 isn't being developed by Crytek this time. I'm not even sure if it still uses the CryEngine either. But don't let that change your mind about this game, because from what I've seen, it looks like it's going to be great.

Not developed by Crytek? Oh, good, maybe it will get support this time. :haw:

It's being developed by Ubisoft Monteal last time I checked.

There have been some rumors going around that it's in production, but all that's semi-official is that a "Unknown LucasArts game" is in production.

Here's a link, if you want to see a bit more (look in the upcoming section). Sorry that it's not much. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_Radical_Design

I'm pretty sure the "new" battlefront will be LoTR: Conquest. It's made by the same devs and is similar class-based, battlefield style gameplay (albeit, without lasers).

Animal Crossing Wii? Hell yeah!

I refuse to endorse a Halo RTS on a console. I will not be buying Halo Wars until it is released for PC.

Things really get interesting here. It could be either Halo Chronicles or the rumored 3rd person tactical shooter where you play as a ODST.

Because of the controls? From what I've seen they are very easy to use and navigate.

This will probably be the first RTS I will fall in love with (part from total annihilation) because I actually have a full understanding of all the infantry and weaponry from the start.

Stop thinking the exact same thing as me...

I still think that Total Annihilation will be my favorite, since there was so much you could do with it. There were hundreds of mods and total conversions that you could get, and thousands of units. It was the easiest game to mod, and that gave countless hours of replayablility to the game. I still play it to this day.

Halo Wars, however, will be great, because if I ever I feel like playing an RTS, but a short game, it's perfect for that. Also, like you said, I know most of the units before-hand, and it's Halo, yet in a different way.

If they're making anything it should be Jedi Knight 4 D:

JK series are the best Star Wars games ever made.

JK series are great, but I really like the Battlefront series as well. They gave some hints that it was Battlefront 3 as well, so yeah. I guess we'll just have to wait until E3 to see.

As much as I wish, they seemed to be running out of material. They'd probably have to venture into the New Jedi Order but I honestly don't want that due to my inability to catch up in that series.

Personally I didn't really like the whole New Jedi Order thing in JKA... the thing that made JK1 and 2 so awesome to me was that Kyle himself wasn't really a jedi... or a sith, and so the storyline was less of the black and white good vs evil stuff that you usually see in Star Wars.
