I just ran into the official Team Fortress 2 blog a while back and I thought that I would consolidate a thread dedicated to any interesting bits found on it! Although the blog is fairly new, it has some pretty interesting goodies like promotional trading cards that never saw the light of day.

I just had a crazy idea for a heavy weapon?
To replace the shotgun, he gets steroids:
1 shot per life, has a charge time (could be based on kills or just takes him a while to poke himself) and then gives him 500% health and then has him charge in the direction he's looking (mb shooting his gun) while he's not able to turn or strafe until he hits the map and instakills anybody he hits.
The steroids also poison him until he gets to a health cabinet or medkit (not medics/dispensors) or dies.

I also had an interesting idea for an unlock:

Brass Knuckles
-Requires the Heavy to drop both the Minigun and Shotgun to use
-Increases Heavy speed between 20-60% depending on which direction he is running (backwards is slower, forwards is faster)
-Lowers health to 180
-Any damage taken from behind multiplied by 1.3%
-Decreases speed back to normal when ubered
-Attacking from front knocks back the enemy a meter (2 hits to insta-kill from front)
-1 hit insta-kill from behind
Model changes
-Hands now weighted slightly lower with iron/brass knuckles attached (Some cool phong shading would look great!)
-Ammo belt removed
-Back armor removed
Turning a range-based damage class into a strictly melee powerhouse. With the decreased health it would make him more vulnerable at range, but the increase in speed would help get there faster. The knock-back effect would be used as a new gameplay mechanic to create a literal "push" at those game defining moments. And the variable speed factor would deter players from "hit and run" styles. If they were to go in a punch something, they would be required to leave their back exposed and making themselves an easier shot. Plus it without the extra ammo and such on the Heavy, the forward running animation could be changed to make him also "wobble" as if he wasn't used to going this fast.

Awesome except for the dripping weapons bit :/
you need to be able to switch between your weapons at all times. or do u mean drop them and then run over them later, as if you where picking up ammo?

Could be possible, but not really that useful. Sort of unrealistic, but then again it's TF2.

In their new blog update (http://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=1704), they actually acknowledge the fake Spy update (http://www.teamfortress.com/images/posts/spy_achievements_fake.jpg) that was created. I love when developers actually have a sense of humor for this sort of thing!

According to an interview during E3, a Valve employee said that the Heavy update won't have a Meet The Team video, but instead a "nod to the community." That'll be awesom.

No, it's a video. It'll be shorter, though, and from a 1:30 video, I'm not sure how much shorter they can get.

Believe me I've tried, but nobody there seems too interested in the map for some reason. :\
