Hello H2... I mean modacity. Have not been here in quite some time and so I go to H2vista.net and come to this place.
Anyway I was trolling the internets and found this.
It looks like Microsoft is at it again with it's attempt to sway people from Microsoft XP, especially so close to the time Microsoft will remove XP from the market. The big software corporation is offering a free copy of Windows Vista Ultimate with it's latest service pack, along with a trial of Microsoft Office 2007. Granted the software is for evaluation purposes only, but that shouldn't stop you from using it in your home indefinitely.
From the site:
"The Windows Vista with Service Pack 1 Desktop Deployment & Evaluation Kit contains: an evaluation copy of Windows Vista Ultimate with Service Pack 1, a Microsoft Office 2007 Professional 180 day trial, and a Desktop Deployment Toolkit with resources to get your planning on the fast track.
We hope you'll use the kit and see how with Windows Vista with SP1, the Windows experience gets even better - with the improvements to performance, reliability, security and application compatibility you've asked for. You'll see an improved administration experience easing certain management and support challenges and you'll find Windows Vista with SP1 keeps your organization's future in mind by already planning for and supporting new hardware and emerging standards that will grow in importance in the coming months and years.
Try it for yourself!"Source (http://toptiergaming.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=25883&st=0#entry371161%5BI)

Go get it. Free vista>Paying for vista. This is where I found it (http://forums.purepwnage.com/index.php?showtopic=78320&st=0)and there is one person there that got it and said its a full version and its not a trial/scam.

Too bad this is US only, or else I would have taken a look at it. Oh well, I'm fine with XP at the moment, so it doesn't really matter to me.

Get your country to stop bitching about American business practices and you might be able to participate in these sort of things.

What the fuck was that fiasco about Windows Vista including Windows Media Player somehow being a monopoly? Don't people know how to use the INTERNET to DOWNLOAD third party software?

Don't want it anyway. Home Premium's enough for me, (as long as Firefox, Word, and the games I play work) and it wouldn't be worth reinstalling Windows (and not enough space to create a dual boot).

Can anyone get it? I'm still getting the errors.

I think it had something to do with not being able to uninstall it.
I could care less for WMP, unless its for videos, but that's just because I've never had to go looking for a better program to play video files.

So do you need to acually be part of a company to get it? or can you just make something up? I could use my dads information to get it if they put it back up again...

I haven't heard anything about the American Government suing MS.

The UK has some weird and fucked up ideas of product packaging. Somehow, they consider an operating system a unique entity from the software it comes with. It's like placing penalties against automotive manufacturers for only allowing certain shapes of stereos to be placed in the console of a vehicle.

Zeph, US suing MS was like the biggest thing to ever hit the tech industy and proved no one is untouchable....

Firstly, its not just UK, its the EU. Secondly its all to do with fairness, theres some fancy name to it but it means that if people choose to uninstall they should be able to. It also tied in with the fact if you wanted an alternative, you should be allowed to install one.
Zeph your really off the mark today, you feeling okay? Normally your on the ball.

I'm sorry, I didn't keep track of political events before I could drive. Besides, what you've linked isn't really the US suing MS as it is the US's attempt at winning antitrust suits. I'm aware of several of the events that occurred, but I dont consider them "the biggest thing ever". I mean you dont see MS split into two companies, most of the claims were from ignorance of simple how to operate the software in question, and just where each company has its money invested.
You really cant uninstall Windows Media Player as it's part of the interface. Now that I've actually had enough time to work with Vista, I'm surprised the EU version of Vista comes with Aero at all.

Pictures of the kit.
Facts-
It is 32 bit only.
You have to go to MS website, enter a pin number, and then you get a CD key via email.
It comes in a card paper piece of crap.
It last forever.
It is in fact over =V
