Well, would you want to get the most money out of your products? Nothing greedy about it, its just strategic marketing.

also, mudkips

Still puts everything they claimed about GFWL to shame, though.

Strategic marketing is fueled by greed :ssh:

I was actually in the disadvantageous position for a bit here. I was one of those unluckies who had to Halo for PC only, so while all my friends were like "OMG HALO 2 LOL :awesome:", I was forced to wait until 2007, and then it didn't matter because all my friends were now like "OMG HALO 3 LOL :awesome:".

Then I pooled my resources, did what MS wanted me to do, and bought a 360.

DAMN YOU.

Halo 3, GoW, Assassins Creed, Rainbow Six: Vegas 2, Dead Rising, Guitar Hero 3, GTA 4, and CoD 4.

All the X360 games that kick the PS3's ass, even if they're made for both consoles or not.

EDIT: Oy! Whats this, I'm in Germany. Not a lot of people really play 360 games, most people here go for PC and Strategy and also UT3 and CS: Source are the most played FPS's. Xbox live lags badly with some connections over here, so either thats a lie or they're complete.. :downs: happyfolks.

I'd be first in line if Halo 3 or Dead Rising was on PC... They keep losing my monies by delaying the games for PC. For those of us who don't have our own 360, having these separated releases is more of an annoyance than it is a convenience for those that do own a 360. Not just because of the time gap, but because it leads to the PC version being a port rather than its own game.

Two good examples, Shadowrun and GoW. Shadowrun was released together and the only problem with that game was a simple C++ issue that was fixed within a couple weeks. GoW, however, had errors left and right with no help in sight.

On that note, has anyone else noticed that PC ports have the shittiest support? I recall Halo 2 Vista's support going something like this...

"So H2V was released? lolkthxbi gais!"
"Wait, look at all these editor/server issues! Can't you fix any of them?"
"Oh, sure, here's a patch to get rid of Jason Jones's ass."
"But what about-"
*Runs away*

EDIT- I think Yahtzee's Console Rundown (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/3-Console-Rundown) gives a pretty good idea of what M$ might be doing. Since the common household idiot jock can't operate a computer for more than Facebook, they've directed more attention to the 360 for its simplicity.

EDIT 2- Maybe they're keeping PC games away to avoid actually making something in DX10. Think about it, we buy DX10 cards only to go "oh wow, that 360 game would be sweet in DX10, only its fucking exclusive so it's like they made DX10 just to sell more graphics cards, oh well back to running *DX9 game here*".

That’s because Microsoft wants you to buy the Xbox 360. They don’t need to push the PC as a gaming platform, in their eyes, but they want you buying the 360, so why would they release a game simultaneously on both platforms?

They should have learned from Halo 2 on that. The delayed launch killed the multiplayer and support aspect of the game. A couple more titles that end up like that and they'll start losing enough money to drop PC altogether.

It’s frustrating to me as a gamer that has the choice, but for those who only have a PC for playing games, it’s even worse. Imagine being a Halo fan and seeing the hype for Halo 3, only to have the release come and go, and almost 10 months later there still being no sign of a PC release. I’d love to think that they might reconsider, but that would be downright silly of me.

This is pretty much it. They would potentially have more sales if they would release the game on PC much sooner. By the time the PC version is released, demand for the title will have diminished to negligible levels. Yes, it's smart marketing for the 360, but it's not too good for global bussiness practices for the company.

Hell, people have already started to hate playing Halo 3.

All I have to say is this.

Halo Wars for XBOX 360, WTF. It's an RTS and they're releasing it for a console before PCs.

:awesome:.

I'm kinda hoping it doesn't come to PCs so it can spare us its MS bullshit and severe waiting.

It's an RTS, how bad could they possibly fuck it up?

Well, if they had to dumb down a FPSRPG like BioShock for the console (See System Shock 2 for details), I can't imagine what they'll have to do for an RTS game. I mean, how many casual 360tards do you think would be able to manage a game like Starcraft?

Halo wars is designed for the consoles, so it's not coming to the PC at all. They've said this several times.

And it's not a bad thing that they are keeping it to the console, because the gameplay itself is adapted for the 360.

Anyway, having PC games release after the 360 version isn't a bad thing, as long as the PC version has something more to offer, like Halo PC did, with it's extra mas, online play, new weapons and vehicles, and Halo Custom Edition. However, if it's a port, with no changes, then it will just piss people off, and make them stop caring. Sure, some people will go buy the console, since the games come out first, but a lot of people, those with good PCs (unlike me) will just wait for the PC port.
