Hello, my friend is trying to Jerry-rig his PC into a wireless router for his 360 (by following the instructions on this site http://www.instructables.com/id/S7HNUF8FAQEDODT/ ) and he has encountered some errors, I have tried to help him, but I am of no use in this matter, I have quoted his explanation, is there any way to help him, or is it just not possible to do with a PC?

The problem is that I am incapable of connecting my xbox 360 to my internet through means of an Ethernet cable. All relevant FAQs end up telling me to connect it into my router, which I am entirely incapable of doing. I also do not have Ethernet ports anywhere around my house, as it is old.

When I span the Ethernet cable I have from my PC to my xbox 360 directly, they do register to each other, but I get IP errors when I try to connect to xbox live. The root seems to be internet sharing on my PC, which I can not activate for reasons you already know.

That also more or less explains what I'm trying, connecting my 360 to my PC by means of Ethernet cable, WITHOUT a router (note that it's obviously an internet ready PC, and I do have a LIVE account, gold and active)

I connected the wire securely to both ends, in the proper ports of both the PC and 360, I have attempted to connect to LIVE, which fails. I have removed the xbox 360 wireless adapter from its slot on the 360 (to avoid conflict. also note that it does NOT work properly, hence my need to wire the connection)

I have attempted to use internet sharing, which fails from the same IP errors, I have tried to bridge connections (you've seen both on my list) but that disconnects me from the net on my PC. so far, that's it

I'm not so good with words, can I get a diagram of his current layout of cabling?
