Bah its hit me :(
GTA 4 was in the tray (running), I went to go downstairs and a gust of wind blew over my xbox, also known as me accidently kicking it over.
I heard the scratch being created :(
Okay so the game wont load up, not even the loading screens :( the disk is still detected to be GTA 4 though.
Any one managed to salvage any of their scratched disks? Also yes it is a perfect circle on the inside edge.

I used a skip doctor once and it worked great. You could try one of them but they cost.

You could try taking it to a Blockbuster/Video game hire store and ask if you could get your disc resurfaced. Some might want to sent it away but others should have a little machine that does it for you.

Hmm, I might have to use the good ol' rent n swap technique. Obviously by 'accidently' getting the disks mixed up.
I'll try cleaning it a bit :(

Here it cost me $10 and 10 minutes to get my old busted halo CD shining again. Won't they realise that the coating they put on it isn't there and call you to get their disc back?

Nope. The old swap works great for services like Netflix.

I might try the shop idea. I know of a place that used to have the service not too sure if they still do.
Yeah they'd probably find out, if I did do the swap it would have to be a walk in walk out, meaning they dont know me/name.

On one of my old xboxs the dvd drive broke so I took the top off the dvd drive to see what was going on, and when I turned it on the thing played, but then sent the disk(halo 2) flying all the way to China. It had a ring of tightly knit circles from the middle to the outer edge of the disk. It wouldn't load or anything, so I bought a skip docter(the hand cranking one) and that thing fixed it flawlessly. I have also used it on a Blu-ray disk.

Resurface. Only costs me 3 bucks a disc here.

My cousin had never seen my Elite before and he wanted to check it out. He came over and then freaked when he saw the beautiful black colossus.
He then proceeds to tilt it on both its sides to "get a good look at it" while I was playing Crackdown.
I then hear a dreadful "KGHISHGHSGIIIKKKSISK" noise like someone is speaking Arabic each time he tilts it.
I was mad as hell and beat his ass before I even saw the CD, question his motives and calling him everything but his name.
I looked at the CD and saw four (count them....4) Perfect circles on my CD. I then got even more pissed. Pissed to Super Saiyan levels.
After clawing his eyes out and speaking backwards in Latin with my eyes rolled back into my skull I decided to pop the cd back in. The funniest thing is...I still play the game and I never got it fixed. It has never frozed or locked up. Its perfectly playable. Only thing is that the cityscape in the main menu isn't there anymore...its like a pink and green fractal thing.
This is why the new cd to hdd thing is rad.
[their was a post between these but I guess it was deleted?]
