So yeah, I was taking advantage of major sales in Seattle, WA yesterday and I discovered a place that I'd overlooked when I previously lived in California:

Back in California, I did get driven by this place a few times, and I think it was at a mall called Westgate in Cupertino. But I never went in because my family normally dislikes eating out, especially at Western restaurants (nothing racial, it's just that in Western restaurants, the service tends to be much slower than in other restaurants). The only times I've been to Western restaurants in Canada are when my friends hold birthday parties at such places.
The Cheesecake Factory is pure utmost WIN. Their free bread basket has like 4 different flavours of bread in one basket and they all taste great, with or without butter.
Main courses are competitively priced with other Western restaurants. I had some beef sandwich with French fries (non-salted, thank god) and it was the best sandwich I'd ever tasted. Pwns Subway, Quiznos, etc outright. Cost $10.95 USD - more expensive than I would've liked, but I see similar prices in many other Western restaurants. Still, it tasted so good, it was more worth it than in other places.
Dessert. No one goes to the Cheesecake Factory without ordering at least one slice of cheesecake. Had the standard New York cheesecake, no additional flavouring.
It tasted so good, it was like having sex. Just kidding. Took 30 minutes to finish it (savoring every bite) as it was that good. I normally never eat dessert but this time I just had to try some cheesecake for once.
My dad considered buying a whole cheesecake to bring back to Vancouver, but we're not sure if the smarmy border officials will allow it, so we didn't.
A breakdown of a trip to the Cheesecake Factory
Border crossing: $6/person (outrageous! They charge for border crossings, like I'm not paying enough when I fill up my car at an American gas station)
Gasoline used to get there: At least $50 with the insane gas prices today
Meal: $11 for main course + $4 or more for cheesecake, depending on flavour
Taking the first bite out of their delectable cheesecake: Priceless
I'll probably never go back for a few years at least, but I'll remember every minute of this meal.
Discuss! Anyone else been to this filled-with-awesome American restaurant? The only thing not awesome about it is that it doesn't have a branch anywhere in Canada.
