So what all's different, just dynamic light on the flames?
I was hoping for a replacement to the horribly shitty animations on the original :\

Well, in the video, it actually makes it look like it can set stuff on fire like an actual flamethrower, Unlike Halo's original. :\

Heres a list of everything.
Dynamic lighting on the flames
New flames (particles and particle systems.)
New projectile damage
New blue ignition light. (sort of a fail, but I tried. :p)
That may be it.

I think the light it makes is a bit bright, but the fire is sweeeeeet.

Fire IS bright.

Yes, but it shouldn't be blindingly bright.

In my opinion if flamethrowers 60 years ago could have a range of 10 to 20 meters, then a flamethrower 500 years from now should have a range further then 5 meters.
But thats my issue with the normal flamethrower too, so nothing new there. But other then that I love the new projectile. Really makes it seem more flamethrower-y.

In a dark, night version of longest, yes. I played with this on a night version of timberland, and its not really bright. I am yet to play this on a day map though, shouldn't really see a big difference in lighting, except in shadows.
Also, spartan123209, I agree. I may try and see what I can do.

They didn't do it for fantastic technological deficiencies. They did it for balance.

I wish the flame was actually emitted from the nozzle of the flamethrower, instead of appearing in the air in front of it.. It's always been that way, any way you could fix that? Also, needs moar smoke. Otherwise, very nice.

I agree that it needs more smoke. Also, could you possibly make it like the H3 flamer and make it more like a spray that sticks to walls rather than bouncing off of them?

Holy smoke c generic.particle, Batman!
Looks good, but here's what could be improved.
-Needs moar custom particle bitmaps.
-Go into the weapon tag and set "first person offset" near the bottom so that it comes out of the gun.
-Needs moar smoke.
-As Conscars said, make the flames create a fire effect upon collision, Halo 3 style.
Other than that, relevant to my interests and I hope you continue working on this. It's nice to see something other than more Halo 3 weapon models. :3

Have you ever watched a flamethrower going off in the dark <_<

I wonder if it'd be possible to have the fire trail effect that this flamethower has, idk.

I didn't realize it was the night version of the map. The brightness is awwight now, but it needs custom particle effects to make it awesome. :o
