View Full Version : Fuck you discovery channel!

Every fucking time I turn to the discovery channel, I'm greeted with deadliest catch. AWESOME. In case you haven't seen deadliest catch, heres a complete overview of the series:
Hurr imma catch crabs lol. OSHI, wave!
Must they show this piss stain of a reality show every other hour!?!? (sometimes more, I haven't counted) Just look at this schedule!
http://dsc.discovery.com/tv-schedules/daily.html
I can't remember the last time I've learned something from the discovery channel, or have seen something other than bullshit reality shows. (cash cab, it takes a thief, and all the other lame ass shows they toss at us.) Pretty much the only good show they have anymore is mythbusters, which hasn't got a new episode in ages.
In short, discovery channel is a rating driven slut of a network. The Science Channel has the only shows that actually mean something.
Oh, and one more thing. Planet green can suck my balls.

The Science Channel has succeeded the original Discovery Channel in terms of learning new things. However, they need some new shows.

I watch history if I want to learn shit, I occasionally like to watch Deadliest Catch (if there are any new episodes), but when it's a constant 24/7 marathon I don't care for it that much.

I totally agree. All that seems to be on is Deadliest Catch, Dirty Jobs, Criss Angel Mindfreak, and Strangest UFO Stories.

I used to like deadliest catch. But I think they've been pushing it too much because of lack of material. The History Channel however seems to turn out new shows at least every season or every other season. I'm looking forward to Evolve and Jurassic Fight Club this tuesday.

Anything having to do with ghosts, spirits, etc., I find to be utterly unconstructive. Leave that crap to channels like FX and whatnot. They do not belong on channels whose names imply that they will present factual recounts of world and universe happenings.

Well, one great show that was on the Discovery Channel was Monster Garage, you know, the one with Jessie James, and they'd take cars, and make them all cool (I remember one where they made a cop car into a mobile doughnut maker). Also, Daily Planet was interesting, but it plays in the morning, when I'm sleeping...

I have about 800+ and don't even watch most of them.
Everytime I turn to Discovery I have a 50/50 percent chance of watching something good. If I'm lucky, Mayday will be showing which is a personal favourite. Last Sunday the marathon of Jetstream was showing which was pretty cool. Dogfights on History is one of my most fav TV shows. G4 is probably the channel I watch most though. Space and Spike are for Star Wars/ StarTrek/Movies/Disorderly Conduct/UFC.

Less here. Probably the same 10 for me. I occasionally watch others for certain shows are movies that are showing but it's mostly just G4, Discovery, History, AMC, and a few others. Also why so many G4 Haters? I can't imagine where else you can get such indepth E3, CGS, CES, Comic-Con, and other event coverage. The website has even more coverage and up to the minute updates.

My sentiments exactly on discovery channel.
You cant watch anything but The Dog Wisperer on National Geographic now.
History Channel has next to nothing other than ice road truckers, tougher in alaska, and people falling trees.

The way A Haunting is presented is frickin' lame. They make it seem so much scarier than it originally is by adding the stupid motion blur/special effect shit.

Also, I watch maybe 5 or six channels. My siblings, on the other hand, aren't quite as active as I am, and thus require more channels to prevent boredom. :(

We get 4 channels here for free :downs:
Discovery channel here generally only has new episodes here on after 8:30 or 9:30, otherwise it's just repeats of Dirty Jobs, Deadliest Catch, and a bunch of engineering shows. National Geographic is alright, except for all their "Is it real?" type shows.

Canada's Discovery channel doesn't air Deadliest Catch or Dirty Jobs quite as often as you'd describe (it's still a little too often of course). However, we are constantly plagued with "Canada's Worst Driver" and "Canada's Worst Handyman" on Discovery channel. WTF happened to Mythbusters? That was my favorite show, after those random nature documentaries (which are non-existent now). The current Mythbusters episodes are all re-runs btw, which sucks.
Thank god I have National Geographic HD nowadays...

Isn't planet green that show that shows like beautiful places around the world? If not I'm thinking of something else. Also, Deadliest Catch is pretty interesting to watch on a Rainy Day if you drink some Hot Coacoa and think of them all as pirates searching for booty and finding Giant Golden coins instead of crabs.
