just seems like if nobody had guns then this stuff would never happen... What do they need guns for? To defend themselves? Only from other people with guns :\

Even if there was a ban on guns people would still get them. Then people who had guns for protection would be helpless.

They should adopt the Canadian gun policy, which forbids handguns and automatics (limited to slow-firing hunting shotguns/rifles), and also restricts the guns to those who actually NEED them (farmers, other rural residents, Aboriginal hunting reserves). The result is a noticeable but still extremely low gun-crime rate. If you want a gangland gunfight, you'd need to smuggle guns across from the U.S., which the average stupid thug would find very difficult to do. I find this to be the best gun policy of all, as it helps keep gun violence low while not completely forbidding gun possession.

It's not very shocking really, it was a Unitarian church.
You know those people who actually don't like sexism and homophobia.
Conservatism, you smarmy cunt, back for more?

I bet bush planned this.. :conspiracy:
Don't really make such an impact as a school shooting on me, for some reason it's not very moving or shocking.

True, but didn't Toronto get hit with a ridiculously large number of gun-related crimes due to smuggled weapons a couple summers back? How'd they ever stop it? Seemed even worse than most parts of NYC.

well obviously if your going to put something like gun control into effect it needs to apply to every state, or it's just not going to work, it's common sense. Smuggling isnt that hard accross state borders.
smuggling only becomes bothersome when you come to national borders.

The United States and Canada do have a national border >.>
But it's basically effortless to go through, especially compared to the Mexican Border. Thanks racial profiling!

i know but i meh.
got my city's mixed up for a second there lol.
but the comment is very generalized, like i remember getting links to states or city's that outlawed guns, and then had there crime rates go up when neighbouring states didnt restrict gun access.

Where is Snaf...:)
I will keep myself out of this topic. The sooner people realize that the #2 Amendment is unacceptable, the better. Imagine what happened if China would have that Amendment in 20 years. A country with 500Million weapons...:hist101:

I jsut dont get it tbh.
Wasn't the entire reason the 2nd amendment came into existence was for the people to fight against a suppressive government who stripped people of there liberty's and where taking control and overpowering the people?
Isnt that exactly whats been happening for the last 50 years?

Well i think that only shows that even that heavy machine gun won't help you overthrow your oppressive government when you lack the basic education to identify it as such.
Knowledge before weapons plox.

Oh I'm here, and I read, there's just nothing in this thread that is a good enough argument against the second amendment to even bother refuting. The last discussion we had on the subject was completely one-sided.
As for the shooting, I'd like to know how he got ahold of the weapon.
As for you, disaster, you do the whole "^lawl" shit a lot. Keep moronic halomaps posting over there, thanks.

we take guns away, they will use knives. We take knives away theyll use scissors. Whats the common link here...the weapon or the person?
