View Full Version : Bush Administration Purging Democratic Registrations
ExAm
July 28th, 2008, 04:59 PM
In swing-state Colorado, the Republican Secretary of State conducted the biggest purge of voters in history, dumping a fifth of all registrations. Guess their color.
In swing-state Florida, the state is refusing to accept about 85,000 new registrations from voter drives – overwhelming Black voters.
In swing state New Mexico, HALF of the Democrats of Mora, a dirt poor and overwhelmingly Hispanic county, found their registrations disappeared this year, courtesy of a Republican voting contractor.
In swing states Ohio and Nevada, new federal law is knocking out tens of thousands of voters who lost their homes to foreclosure.

"Politics. How tiresome."
This shit happens all the time; eventually it'll pass, and then something else will take its place. Rinse and repeat.
I'm not to worried about this affecting Obama's chances for election. Hell, he already has impersonators on car commercials. :v:

Nah, it's the best part of the country.
That's why people are attempting to manipulate and remove it. It gets in their way.

If you could take a nice glance at all the shady political maneuvers throughout history, with this attitude you'd probably have to off yourself at the horror of it all. :)

If that's what it takes to get a real president with real experience like McCain, then I support it. It's not ideal, but it's better than letting the people elect that inexperienced ass just because he's "charismatic". Hitler was charismatic too, ya know.
e: And he was put in power by popular vote. So, I rest my case.

President Bush was experienced, too. He was governor of Texas and his father was also President. So, naturally, the past 8 years of his supervision have led America into a new age of economic growth and global appreciation, and everyone approves of his election and wishes we could elect him another 4 years.
Right?
Quite personally, I don't listen to what politicians say. Their job is to promise whatever they need to get into office. I pay attention to how, when, and where they campaign. Obama, for example, spent the last week visiting various Middle Eastern and European nations in order to improve relations; McCain spent his week in Ohio.
Which one looks more dedicated and fitting for the office to you?

Which one looks more dedicated and fitting for the office to you?You do know that McCain has been to the Middle East several times, right? Just a while ago, McCain called Obama out because he hadn't gone to any other countries, and Obama made the claim that McCain wasn't spending enough time in the U.S., where he should have been. Now that he stays, he's not doing what he should be? I'm not saying I like McCain, but think about what you're saying. McCain has been to the Middle East several times, I'm not sure about Europe.
Seriously, try not just going by what you hear and see in the media, search this shit up. The news and media are just about entertainment anymore; if you want real facts, you have to find them yourself.

Right back at ya.
My intention was more to denounce the whole "McCain has more experience" thing, for the record. I'm also just stating a recent example for how I determine a candidate's worthiness, rather than using it as a true argument on behalf somebody.
EDIT: Also, wasn't this thread about a large Democratic majority having their voting registrations purged? I'm not to fond of political debates; it's always two sides constantly arguing with diminishing senses of fact and logic just to try and prove each other wrong.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c251/CN3089/Emoticons/emot-eng101.gif After he secured the nomination, he went on a trip to the middle east and Europe as part of a congressional delegation (http://www.reuters.com/article/politicsNews/idUSL0157942120080316). Don't start blaming Bush for the state of the economy. He's an intelligent and experienced leader, and if he weren't in office it's likely things would be much worse. He may not be the best public speaker, but he's compassionate and determined. If it weren't for him the terrorists probably would have won. What we need now is someone who will stay the course, someone with no sympathy for terrorists, someone who will protect this nation from the threats in the middle east- someone like McCain.
