Have you used any halo h4x lately?
Reboot? Sounds like something is trying to hook it early on.

no hax, i uninstalled and installed.
i did however drop the strings.dll and those modifed exe's from the unofficial bungie patch
E: got new ones from jcap, still didnt work

I'm using them and it works fine.
Try and replace 'em anyway. If that fixes it, then you at least know where the problem is.

Your running Vista. Thats the problem, termy's fix might work otherwise keep looking on Microsoft support site.

That's a SafeDisc protection when you load the exe with a debugger or attach one to it.
Tbqh...might be a virus or something.

I just did a clean install, theres not going to be viruses.

most likely your anti virus software.
disable it, then load ce..
if that doesn't work, update your sound card drivers.
it that doesn't work, its your video card drivers (http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?p=1284553).

weirdest shit man, it was the videocard drivers. That was the oddest problem ive ever had.
