Okay, well I've always been a bit sceptical about ebay, I know theres scammers but I also know theres legit people, but the whole process confuses me.

So I may bite the bullet and try to get something on there. Not spend too much and if it doesnt work then no worries least I've tried.

So, you bid on items, if you win, I suppose you get a message from ebay saying congrats. What happens from there? Do you pay the person first? Do you wait to get the package delivered then pay the person?

I'd be using paypal just to be sure, when you make a bid, do you need the funds straight away, or can I attempt to win it THEN put money into my paypal account?

You message the winner with your address then they send it to you, obviously they need to know my address.

So many little things that I havent bothered to look into because I never really wanted to use ebay, so yeah if you could clear a few things up that would be great.

When you bid, it would be smart to already have money in your PayPal account because most people want you to pay either 24-48 hours after you win the auction. Also, your address and information will be in your PayPal account and Ebay account, and the auctioner will be able to see all that once you pay them. It's been awhile since I used Ebay but I think that's the basics. Might want someone elses advice first before you start any bidding.

E: Also, to be safe, I wouldn't buy anthing from anyone with a precentage lower than 97%.

One more thing, with Paypal. I know you can put funds from a bank account in, I've done it before, however I was wondering whether you can taken funds out of your account and put it into your bank account.

I assume you can, but if I remember correctly when Paypal first started you couldnt do that, and I was puzzled why any one would sell stuff if they couldnt use the money.

It's been so long but I'm pretty sure you can't (or at least not in the UK). I think people just prefer to have money in there PayPal account for buying stuff online instead of having to give away their credit card number. Just search around on Google and see what you can find about out.

yes, you can transfer funds from your paypal account back into your real bank account.

ebay is fairly simple, and very safe as long as your going with someone with a good rep.

you bid, you win, you pay, you receive item.

(ot, i got my zune on ebay if anyone wants to bid :D)

Bit of a bump sry :(

Well I bidded on an item and currently winning (woot) my question is about Current Bid and maximum bid.

Say current bid was $3, I put a maximum bid of $10. It doesnt set the item price to $10, it sets to like $3.20.

What I ask is, if I put another bid on my maximum, and I'm currently already winning (I want to put a higher maximum so that I dont have to sit and keep refreshing hoping, therefore either I get it or dont because I dont wanna pay too much, if I put a higher maximum bid on, it wont affect the current bid, correct?

Cheers, it says there if it had a reserve price. Will the item say if it has a reserve price? It doesnt say "reserve price hasnt been met" or anything like that so I assume it hasnt got one :D

You should be fine. If there was a reserve price, the page would look something like THIS (http://cgi.ebay.ca/Apple-iPod-touch-8-GB-2000-Songs-Digital-Media-Pl_W0QQitemZ230282301812QQihZ013QQcategoryZ73839QQ ssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem).

Sweet I just won :D

I click pay now then follow instructions, or do I have to wait for the seller to ask me for it?

Depends on what the seller wants. Usually you should pay right away. What did it say in the description for payment? And if you don't mind me asking, could I see the auction page?
