I'm working on a map called Deep Freeze (Aka coldstorage, aka chillout). The map is working its got lightmaps spawns and objectives for every gametype and all the shaders look at least half decnet so far. And ive even put in the description and name for the map. I go to compile it and i get a bunch of random errors about carbine reloading particle systems and smg magazines with out cutoffs (which i belive is just bungie being to lazy to fix there own tags) and it compiles and says Sucsesfully built cache file and it then it says "press any key to continue" so i do and ... theres no cache. Anywhere.

I tried compiling the map again using the cmd command "h2tool build-cache-file scenarios\multi\fat\deepfreeze"

Still nothing

I then ran a search on my computer for Deepfreeze.map. Nothing came up.

Then i looked through

C:\Microsoft games\halo 2\maps - nothing
C:\Microsoft games\halo 2 map editor\maps - even more nothing
C:\...\Patrick\documents\my games\halo 2\maps - Triple Nothing
C:\Microsoft games\halo 2\tags\scenario\multi\fat - Nothing-Tacular!
C:\Microsoft games\halo 2\data\scenario\multi\fat - Nillamanjaro!

So then i thought "maybe its my scenario..."

I then tryed compileing example.scenario and ended up with the same frustrating result.

Anyone have any idea where my map is? +rep for help ;)

backup everything related to the map editor and re-install it.

Your tags are dead.
Sorry, your gonna have to reinstall.
Most likely you messed up a tag, or compiled something wrong, or ran out of hdd space:lol:

Fixed it actually. The computer wasn't letting tool save the cache file cause it thought it was a virus :p so i ran it as admin and it worked.

I hate Vista. I have a vista laptop and a XP PC. And from the moment i got that laptop Ive had to FIGHT with vista every step of the way. Yesterday for no apparent reason it deleted all the icons on my desktop. What a wonderful OS!

And yes i have disabled UAC.

Most of the problems users face with vista are the user's fault. I've not had a single issue from vista that's screwed with me. The worst I've probably got was the network couldn't find my network card, but that was due to me not installing the drivers.*duh*

Silly users.
