Import the .wrl file into 3ds max/gmax(located in the halo ce root directory)

Locate the orange that the wrl imported

Go into editable poly and delete the faces that are overlapping

Create new faces where you deleted them, apply materials as needed, and re-export and tool

When you import the .WRL uncheck the 3 check boxes.

The spot where you have the orange face is where your overlapping surface is. Delete the overlapping faces and rebuild the faces of the cliff so that you don't have any overlapping faces.

BTW, do you have a copy of cmd.exe moved to you Halo CE game directory? That might be why tool isn't working for you.

Not the orange thing. That "orange thing" represents a face of your level in your case which is overlapping another one. You go to your map, select that face, delete it and remake it so that it doesn't overlap any other face.

The face that the orange is trying to show is bad, and recreate it. Also, delete the things the file imported.

see thats where im confused
1. import WRL
2. uncheck all boxes
3. delete orange triangle(?)
4. rebuild where orange triangle was(?)

Is it really that complicated?

Go into your map and look where the orange face. The orange face is a REPERSENTATION of where you have a error in your map. Its there to show you where you have something wrong. In this case, in your map, you have 2 faces overlapping each other. This causes a error in tool and tool makes a file with the orange face to show you where the overlapping face is on your map. So you import the file and the orange face appears in your map to show you where your error is. Then you have to fix the error by remodeling the part of the map that's messed up.

Understand?
