While me and lonewolf were researching that whole recon thing. I injected a gamerpicture to replace the one that his profile uses. And so it happened to work! This is a non xbox live account by the way.

We arent sure weather or not it will ban people who use it on xbox live, With permission from him, if anyone would like to test it out on live, feel free to I guess.
We are also working on finding the flags for armors that are unlocked, If anyone would like to help, msg me on aim or msn.

Yes, it would most likely get you banned as you are modifying content which is against the Terms of Use. I'd love to help out with finding flags for armor permutations but have no clue where to start.

You don't get banned at all.

Also, there really are no "armor flags", more like achievement flags, since 90% of the armor is unlocked by achievements and the others by campaign progress.

People like you sicken me. All you do is lead the way for more havoc on live.

Only you can see the gamerpic anyways...

Yeah, I doubt it affects the service at all, really.

I always thought it worked by just assigning each picture a unique ID that is downloaded from LIVE, wherever you are. They don't actually store anything locally except for your gamerpic cache. Every time a friend looks at your gamerpic, they download it from the network, not you.

In fact, if you were to delete your profile from your Xbox and retrieve it, your gamerpic would probably be the one you had before modifying the container file.

However, one thing that crossed my mind is what would happen if you used the camera to take a picture. I'm not sure how that works, but if you were to take a picture with the Xbox LIVE Vision Camera and THEN modify the image, would it work?

What would be the difference from normal injection? All you are doing is replacing the image with something else.

Actually, I was able to extract my gamerpic via hex editing from my profile contatiner. I then created a new one, but figured out it wasn't the same size (it was smaller) so had to add null bytes to the end of the file to make it the exact same size as the original. I then take the hex from the new image and paste it into where it reads my gamepic in my profile container, rehased and resigned it and VOILA! A corrupt gamertag :(

Well, you are technically capable of getting tags you WOULD have to buy for free so I think you would get banned.

No, because of the reason stated in the other thing that you didn't quote. Vision Camera pictures have to be uploaded for others to see. Your default gamerpics are all hosted on the XBL servers with unique IDs and are downloaded when you come across a profile.

So say, the only way for others to see it would be replacing an offline con files on that was downloaded from a disk? (eg gow bonus disk)

Yes, but isn't it still a png? Aren't still replacing the current image displayed on your profile? But I don't have a Vision Camera, so I can't really say much.

Try it. =)
