What do you do when your kids get out of hand while playing with their Xbox? Your options are:
A time out.
No dessert.
Nail that Xbox to a tree, dammit!Yes, option number three was in order for a Mechanicsville, Va., father, who apparently had enough of his kids' shenanigans/back talk/zombie-like addiction to Halo. Out into the backyard and up onto the tree the Xbox went.
Lest you think this punishment too harsh, the kids' mother -- who by the way posted this story on CNN's ireport Web site -- says the action was appropriate and that the kids don't hate their dad.
The shattered unit is available now on Ebay, with half the proceeds from the sale going toward the Hanover County School system and the other half to the kids' college fund. In return, you get a pile of junk, since we're pretty sure nailing a gaming system to a tree trunk invalidates the warranty.Link to full story : http://www.switched.com/2008/08/19/angry-father-nails-xbox-to-tree/
I personally think that's going a bit too far, but hey, if it works for them, then that's fine...even though it's kind of dumb.

Well if they were not listening to their dad, then they might consider that a lesson learned. :-3

Just a regular Xbox? Not so bad. Get another used one for like $50.

Yea... It's most likely going to shatter...
If my parents did that, they'd have to pay me for not only the XBOX that I bought with MY money, but the modchip, and all the man-hours I put into installing it...
I love purchasing all my own tech. That way if my parents take it away from me or something, I just call them thieves and order them to give it back.
Yes, I'm horrible to my parents.

Fucking High Five for parenting.
Seriously if i had my way, there would be a dead xbox hanging from every tree. Some of the ways kids these days Treat there parents is fucking rediculous, and if it takes nailing an Xbox to a tree to get them to fuckign behave, i'll be doing a door to door knock handing out Hammers and nails.

Haha great, sometimes extreme times call for extreme measures.
Perhaps I'd bury the xbox with concrete.

high fucking five. Kids these days are pathetic parents need to stop being such fucking faggots and learn to do their damn jobs. I saw a 10 year old the other day tell his mom to fuck off cause he wants to swim more. She did nothing...screw the tree, nail the fucking thing to the kids good forehead.

I agree, kids these days are treated way too well, considering what they do. Sure, you don't want to beat the hell out of the kid, but damn, if your child says "fuck you" to you, and you don't do anything about it, there's something wrong.

Parents don't do shit because they hear things about how abused children turn into psycho murderers later in life or some shit, and apparently in this day and age, a good old bare-ass-spanking constitutes either child abuse or pedophilia.
That, or they just fuck constantly, have about a bazillion kids, and don't give a shit. DCF needs to start castrating people or something.

No kidding. My mom wasn't afraid of the government or anyone else when i was bein a bad kid. Some lady tried to tell my mom she was calling the cops for child abuse (i was getting a smack on the leg or something for being a little shithead in the store) and she told the lady she's next in line for an ass kicking.
