If u want top try it out, here's the beta. Its not done yet, as you will see...

I have also run into a problem. I have expanded on my red base. Here are some pics of the model. Should I countinue with this new model for Det Run or just leave Det Run bsp the way it is?

Lot's of weird faces on the right tower in the first pic, and the ground near the entrance seems unnatural, but I like it. It's very unique.

Is this based on anything? If not, its not very halo-ey.

Looks interesting, though the tower to the right looks...weird.

Am I still going to do the terrain for it?

disaster, u were never making terrain for it. Talk to me on xfire.

What do you guy's think of the faster waling speed? Should I change it?

Terrain needs complete reworking, but this has potential.

Definitely a lot better than your very first version. :p

I remember beta testing the one in-game right now. It was fun. Although, it needed mongooses(mongi/mongeese?) instead of Warthogs. Be sure to make the all out map larger. I liked the structures a lot though.

I really like the bases, fix up the UVs and stuff obviously, and fix the terrian

Terrain needs complete reworking, but this has potential.This. I acutally find this interesting. Haven't seen a decent map in a while that had that real "custom" feel to it (basically, not involving forerunner shit). Nice job so far.

Looks pretty cool so far. A good rework of the weapon spawns (make sure you start with pistol and AR) and terrain should do the trick.

I've been working on a lot of terrain for other projects, so i think i got tha hang of it. Now, all i have to do is detach it and apply it to my new terrain. Should be easy... NOT! lol

Thx for the advice and the compliments.

Damn, I'm just now starting to get a feel of how spoiled these next-gen titles are making me. I used to have a blast in Halo 1's very static environment O_o. Now, I look at Halo 1 and think to myself "if only those crates could be moved around :smith:..."

Its like realizing the transition of dial up to dsl, how much better things are. You still managed to live then, but life is just so much better now and yet you wonder how you managed it before hand.

I no!!1! code it 4 teh phyzX and havick!

@OP: Map looks interesting, although the terrain is kind of meh and some of the geometry (like the funny metal air duct thingy at the top) could use a bit more smoothing and general loving.

It might just be me... but it seems rather high poly for a small section of terrain. But it could just be me.

Rooster

I dont know... here's what i'll do, i'll compile the map with this kind of high poly terrain with standard terrain portals. If it still has clipped edges, i'll buy you a drink. lol

o, where can i get good tuts on cool effects I can use in Guerilla for textures (making them shinny, bumpy, reflect, stuff like that).

i think a better use of poly count could be in order... like soften up the corners where the ground meets cliff. look at real terrain photos do some homework... no natural terrain has hard edges like that unless it's rocks that just broke apart.
