2. Umm, there really isn't any reason why my avatars/sigs/desktops are anime besides the fact that I like it. For avatars/sigs, I usually derrive them from other images that I think would make cool avatars/sigs. Most of those just turn out to be anime. No particular reason. The reason why my desktops turn out to be anime is probably the fact that I don't know of any wallpaper databases that contain a large amount of all kinds of wallpapers. I usually get my desktops from someplace like... animepaper.net.
If someone can point me towards some other databases, that would be appreciated.

Not much of interest, but it mostly signifies that I'm using mainly Ubuntu now, which is fucking :awesome:. I love the terminal, the speed, the ease of quickly learning new programming languages, and just the overall look of it. I was able to quickly move about 46 musics off an external HDD by typing cd /media/hd/folder/, cp * ~/Music. Then I typed vlc * to instantly queue it all up to be played. I luv it. I also just hit print screen, and Ubuntu gave me the option to just instantly save it as a file to the desktop. moar :awesome:

Also I like Halo 3 screenies a lot. Very scenic.

Also also, thank you internet for showing me that weaboo term. That perfectly describes some of the people that I know that annoy the crap out of me. :v:

And why do you all have so many icons? I put all my games/important items into 1 file, then un-check "show desktop items". Then I re-check to get into the folder, and un-check when I'm done. I mostly use the start bar anyways.

It's Vista and XP and Ubuntu Linux. All at the same time. I've been messing around with virtualization (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platform_virtualization) to overcome Vista's myriad incompatibilities. Ugh, Vista can't even run a simple alarm clock program properly.

To apply the .png you need resourcehacker, get it here: http://angusj.com
/resourcehacker/

Firstly change your theme to windows classic, or any theme that does not have the windows orb.

Then locate the aero.msstyles file in C:/WINDOWS/Resources/Themes/Aero
Keep a copy of the original somewhere and take ownership of the file.

Now open it with reshacker and open IMAGE then find 872.

Expand it and right click>replace resource.

Replace it with my .png and fill in the fields as shown

Now save what you've done and replace aero.msstyles

Start up the theme again and enjoy the :awesome:

Also this doesn't work with taskbars that are wider than the default, as i haven't yet made an image to replace the orb when the taskbar is stretched. I will get onto that soon.

It appears every time I try to replace the resource, it goes to the basic theme. Any idea why? When replacing the files I'm in the classic theme.

EDIT- Nope, that didn't work either. Oh, and I did save as. This may be a randomly helpful piece of info, but normally when I preview the aero theme, it has a preview of a window, but after modifying the image, it no longer has that preview. Hopefully that's a clue or something.

Did you save the changes when modifying the resource (file>save as, replace the aero.mssytles)? Also, try restarting your DWM

Grargh, it appears to refuse having any changes made to it. Think you can make an installable theme with :awesome: in it? Reason I need this so much is because I'm working on a desktop project...

EDIT- I would make a BIG note that you need VistaGlazz first. If you're on SP1, get the beta. Then you patch with the first button in the Glazz window, and the modded images will work.

Awesome, you got it to work! The reason I didn't just upload my aero.msstyles is that I only have Home Basic, so I don't know if it would be useful to Aero users. I'd like Aero though :gonk:

Reaper: It's actually the vista clock with a swapped png. Go to C:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets\Clock.gadget\images\ and take full control of trad.png. Then, take this image and make it the new trad.png.
