Futureshop usually don't sell computer hardware so cheap....The weird thing is, 9600 GT sells for the same price, even though the 8800 GT is the same price.

Be Careful what you buy. This is old technology and it'll be obsolete in a year's time. Get an HD4850 to last you at least 2 years. 8800GT is great for now, though.

I wouldn't call it old technology just because it's not new. It can be used as a physics card just like the flagship gtx280, or to accelerate video conversion.

It could be used as a dedicated physics card along side a newer AMD card if you wanted :awesome:

It's only one generation old. Besides, age only really matters if you plan on maxing out your graphics settings at a high resolution.

If I had a desktop, I'd order a pair of these.

I generally wouldn't call it old technology but the newer offerings for lower prices make it virtually old. I've finally seen the 9800GTX+ for lower than $200 at Futureshop (sale only) but it requires monstrous power and cases.

I ordered almost $900 worth f stuff from newegg.com yesterday for a new pc, one of the things was a 109.99 PNY 512mb 8800gt, which included Frontlines: Fuel of War! I snatched that up very quickly. I advise you guys to do the same, cause it's only a weekend special!
