Its because you selfish assholes didnt pull your finger out when it was time to rally together and Fix a problem.
Natural disasters happen in australia too and the hole country rallies behind to help pick up the pieces and get shit back on track.
katrina and the administration that handled it are a testimate to the sickening ideals effecting the country.

Another reason why I'm glad I live in Illinois. The only bad thing that can happen up here are tornadoes, and I have yet to see one with my very eyes. Yay for no natural disasters. AMIRITE MASS? o/
Hopefully Gustav won't be too bad for the people down there, but it seems to be gaining strength pretty quickly...

You are correct, with the exception of the ongoing natural disaster, Mayor Richard M. Daley.

Last I heard they didn't rebuild hardly anything. Pretty much just those blocks they have mardi gras on.
To be honest, people living there are fucking stupid. You live on the coast. Why the hell are you building and living on land below sea level. Isn't it obvious that you probably shouldn't have a community there if each time it rains your dead float away riding in their caskets?

But typically hurricanes only cause reparable damage in New Orleans and the surrounding region, it's the government, on all levels, that is responsible for not maintaining the levee that really fucked things up with Katrina.
But what can I say, it was a helluva job, Brownie.

How exactly are you Hurricane proofing your house? Also, damn, and I thought that one Tornado near my area about 2 weeks ago was scary. (I'm like, 30 minutes west of Chicago)

ANd hurricane proofing a house is about hte same as zombie proofing a house. We bar the windows and cover them with boards. Get rid of anything that could be used to break windows, and burn the corpses of all your relatives.

Corndogman
August 31st, 2008, 02:05 PM
We usually just take all our loose patio furniture and anything else and put them in the garage, and if it looks like its gonna hit us hard, some people put up hurricane shutters or wooden boards over the windows.

By 30 minutes I mean about a 30 minute drive. I don't want to say I live in Chicago, because that's inaccurate, and if I did say where I was, you probably wouldn't know what that place is. Also yeah, it rained hard, but didn't flood the field behind my house. Seemed like an average rainy day.

It was an awesome rainy day that we've need for a while. About a week ago, pretty much every yard in my neighborhood had brown grass spots on it. It looked terrible. Now it's raining all day so far.
YEAAH GO RAIN.
