Well, it's been a week since Slipknot's new album came out, and I've been listening to it and Dragonforce's Ultra Beatdown (http://www.modacity.net/forums/showthread.php?p=297675#post297675) nonstop (I saw them both live in concert recently), and I'm wondering what anyone and everyone else here at Modacity thinks about it. Any favorite tracks/lyrics/riffs/breakdowns/solos/etc.?

I personally like Wherein Lies Continue, Snuff, Sulfur (esp. the tied-in breakdown after the first chorus) and This Cold Black (the intro riff just sounds so vicious and decisive).

Tell me what you all think of the new album. Please don't fuck up my thread. K?

n00b1n8r: Yes, yes they do. Not on stage though (they really get into their performance), but they all have regular lives outside of the band. One even plays semi-pro golf for charity.

bodzilla: The two songs released thus far (Psychosocial and the title track) are a minimally accurate representation of the album. The next single off the album will be Dead Memories, which is much more melodic and radio friendly. It sounds more like something Corey (lead vocalist) would have written for his other active band, Stone Sour. Snuff is another highly harmonic track, containing acoustic guitars and piano throughout. Also, the bonus tracks Child Of Burning Time and 'Til We Die are both along the same vein.

king_nothing_: lol maybe. Half of the album is quite heavy, while the other half is more radio-friendly, but both are delivered very fiercely.
