do any of you guys know how to decompile an existing map file, change a few shaders and textures around, and then recompile it?
if you want to know what im doing, i have a low end pc, and because of that i cant see jackal and elite shields. i am going to replace them with the oritional default art file. how do i do this?

I don't think you can decompile unless you mean like ripping maps and getting scenarios.

i mean taking the code out of someone elses map so i can change some parts of it.

Learn some computer vocabulary before making threads like these.
If you want to change pieces of someone else's map, you can't do it to CMT's maps, because those are encrypted. Besides, it isn't that simple. I don't make anything for Halo CE (gave up a long time ago), but from what I read, you can't just use HEK to edit a map file that you didn't create.
