Securom will really fuck with your computer. I'm idling now between 20 and 85% on both cores now.

not me, everything is fine.
also, your title is pretty gay, why single out warhead? plenty of games use securom....

And plenty of those users are experiencing the same problem.
Warhead is nice. It has its problems, but it's a major improvement over Crysis. Securom, on the other hand, is just terrible. It's not even uninstalling with the official uninstaller.

Well SecuRom is the best protection out there...no wonder it uses many resources. I don't know whom to blame...but if their old pirating ratio was 20:1 I can totally understand them.

How?
I've never heard of SecuROM stopping piracy of a game :confused2:

I can. It's blatantly clear that SecuROM doesn't work and hasn't worked for quite some time. As a third party developer, they have the ability to decide a DRM method. You cant even get the damned thing uninstalled off your computer without voodoo.

I've got warhead and up to now I've had no problems with it, I especially like Battlegrounds 16v16.

actually, since i installed spore (around that time, not sure) my laptop started overheating and shutting down. (at least i think it was overheating) i cleaned out the heatsink etc, but it still kept overheating, for no reason, and just shutting off COMPLETELY. now i've installed warhead, and won't even get past the hardware check while booting now without shutting off.
it's being picked up today for repair, but it's curious that this shit started happening around the same time. is there any chance this is securom-related? can a piece of anti piracy software, that doesnt even work really literrally BREAK my computer like that?

There is a file for Crysis Warhead that disables SecuROM, for people who are having issues with it, but you have to find it on your own. Also, I haven't had any problems with SecuROM fucking up my computer, yet.

Doesn't bioshock use it, along with monopoly, and eragon?
It stops me from using monopoly completely, and bioshock takes forever to get past the disk check. Eragon won't even work now because of a FEW scratches.

Exactly. I thought the problems I started experiencing were just random windows problems, but on further reflection they did start occurring around the time I installed spore. So reformat for me!

so it seems all your problems are from spore, not warhead...
now, stop shitting on the game and go to the spore forums :)

They wont let you do that on the spore forums. They'll ban your account, which invalidates your CD key.

I don't know if this breaks the game, but it might be worth a shot.

Spore uses SecuRom? Could that be a reason why my computer has been slow as hell lately?

Heh, didn't think this was worth a thread but;
in almost every non-PB sever I have someone on the enemy team that is onwing our team with 2-3 bullets of something who can survive up too a full clip without dying. Why is this? I just had this snoopy guy in a game kill me about 20-25 times, each time from distances of around 100-200km in the game with 2-3 shots of SCAR ammo.

Crysis is probably the easiest game to cheat on recently. I remember when it was first released all you had to do was edit the weapons ".xml" files to change amount of damage/projectile types ect. You could make a pistol that had infinite range, instantly froze the target on impact, and had infinite range with only a few changes to the xml files.
