Zero, should have been put away a long time ago. Then again with the court system with have, it really shouldn't be a surprise we let him off.
Just glad that they got it right this time.

Why do you keep trying to be funny? There's a difference between being funny and being a dumb ass who thinks he's funny.

Then, of course, there's just straight up idiocy in the name of being 'cool'. That'd be your field, I'd imagine.
So, what's in fashion this week? Lobotomies?

You two are predictable ones.
Oh and OJ's guilt is questionable. I'm on the fence, though quite certain he did kill his wife.
Oh, is that all
I was expecting some self-indignant rant which screams "I DON'T GET ENOUGH ATTENTION" and a laughable attempt at a -rep attack, like the last time I dared speak an opinion you didn't like:rolleyes:

Whats the humor in that?
I remember from American History class that a man can do whatever he wants with his property. Thats why a slave brought into a free state is still a slave.

e/ uh I don't recall marriage making someone your legal property nor voiding their basic right to life as a human being but I guess you're more educated on the matter than me

shut the fuck up, you dumb ass try-hard.
also, nice one wraith, deleting your roll eye response. instead of ever retorting with facts or evidence, you resort to personal attacks and emots. you and your arguments are too easy to shut down.
E: oh there it is. piss off, troll. there's nothing to retort with you, so i'll just call you out for what you are. an ignorant troll.

Sheesh. Where did the nice snaf go.
And I'm not a try hard. That means that that horrible excuse for a joke that you are so meaninglessly flustered about took time and effort.
Go outside.

Guy kills his wife.
So obvious.
Hires crazy lawyer.
Something about a glove.
Gets away.
Writes a book basically saying he killed his wife.
rossmum
October 5th, 2008, 12:26 AM
And they couldn't retry him as he'd been acquitted. Right?
Fucking stupid law if ever I heard one.
p0lar_bear
October 5th, 2008, 12:37 AM
"If the glove don't fit, aquit." Or, as Nat'l Lampoon's Van Wilder put it: "If the glove don't fit, It ain't shit." :v:
Yeah, double jeopardy. It gives the message that those lawyers better have their shit together the first time around; no re-dos. Of course the defense can exploit that fact to their advantage.
Even then, there are loopholes, i.e. if a Murder 1 charge doesn't work, they can try for a lesser Murder 3.
My late aunt used to bring home folders of funny shit from the offices she worked at downtown, and amongst them were pages and pages and pages of OJ jokes. My last post was one of them.
Heathen
October 5th, 2008, 01:02 AM
correct. If the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit.
E: damn polar bears.
And you guys are looking at it the wrong way.
Thats like if you didn't do it and then you were acquitted, then the opposing party said "No, bullshit. Run him again. I don't like that outcome."
Double Jeopardy prevents THIS from happening.

True as that may be, I find it more alarming that it allows people to get away with anything they want as long as they can work the system well enough.

This.
but at the same time I see why its there... say some one was framed or thought to murder someone, everyone thinks he did it but he really didn't and the evidence proves him not guilty.
Then he gets retried and... blah blah blah.
You know the story.
Its bad either way... I think its more important keeping the innocent safe though. Tough call though...

Well no matter how you slice it, he got off on a technicality. Even the court must have seen he was guilty as hell.
