hey i have a lag problem with the map cmt-snowgrove. everytime i look in the direction of a enemy/teamate i get stuck...like my screen just stop moving. i figure out that this only happens when i look at someone and not at something else. so if there a way i can reduce lag or something plz help. (this also happens when i play on extinction too)

Extinction lags like hell anyway. What are you're specs?

ThePlague
October 4th, 2008, 07:13 PM
Maybe your graphics card can't handle the sexyness of other people?

Post your specs so we can find out the problem, and also i'd be nice to say what OS you have.

I don't think he understands what specs are.

He means tell us what you have under the hood.

I don't think he understands what specs are.

He means tell us what you have under the hood.If you say that then he might show us a picture of his car...if he has one.

Specs mean stuff like the graphics card, the amount of RAM it has, the Operating System. Stuff like that.

It says he has Intel Integrated graphics you douche.

That's why you're having issues, get a real graphics card.

8800 GT for like $100, great card if you motherboard will support it.

Anything with Direct X 9 support will be way better than what you've got.

You misunderstand, onboard video with low vram does not equal a video card

What kind of card you need is dependent on what your motherboard can support, someone else would be better helping with that

Basicly what you have is a intel graphics card which is probally your problem. If not it's your proccesor but I need to know what that is.

You need a real graphics card, problem solved. Try and get a new processor and some more ram while you're at it. You know what, just buy a new computer :downs:

Honestly, an ATI 9600pro or the Nvidia 6200 is all you need for anything Halo pc/ce at the minimum.

That and more RAM... What are you running Vista for with only 512mb?

ChemicalFizz
October 6th, 2008, 02:49 AM
Turn off all your particles. Set the resolution to the lowest one possible, and set texture quality to low. I'm assuming your onboard video controller doesn't have shaders, but if it does, turn off the decals, specular, and whatnot. Seriously, this is the best option you have besides getting some new parts.

Another question, did this just suddenly happen a few days ago and not long before?

He probably got a vista comp when it first came out, at wal-mart I saw them selling garbage computers like that with vista on them.. unaware of what system resources are I suppose.

That thing's pretty terrible, but it does have a pcie 16x slot. 250 watt power supply is very weak, but you can still run a low end add-in video card with it at least..

Lololol. I'm glad to be saying that i have a lot less lag than i did before. While deleting useless data on my computer I came across my xfire videos. I had over 40 videos that equal up to 10.6 gb of useless videos I didn't need. Since i deleted them i have been able to play extinction and snowgrove with a lot less lag. Thank you all for given me advice for my computer and what kind of graphic card i need in the furture.
