Note that the trailer has been ditched for an anchored quadrupod with a turret mount.
Okay, so here's how it works. THADeUS is a wire-guided, Fire-And-Forget kinetic munition launched from the ground, propelled from its tube by an initial charge. A pair of boosters at the front activate, sending it towards the target aircraft, while trailing a cable from the launcher. At the tip is a shaped charge warhead (not HEAT anymore), which blows a hole in the plane and exposes a penetrator tip, which tears through to the other side. The barbs then extend, securely fastening the device to the aircraft. The cable's reel is then locked, forcing the target aircraft to careen into the ground. Ideally the system is set up in an area a certain distance from a popualation center. The cable system ensures that the aircraft is taken down within a predetermined radius, and not in the city.
