You could swap the crouch animations...

Re-animate the biped and decrease his walking speed.

If you want to have the option to both run AND crouch, then I can't help you.

Open up the animation tag for MC. Select the Stand animation set (I believe its under "UNIT") Then find the animation for stand move forward or whatever it is and replace it with the the alert move forward animation or whatever its called.

Then go into the global s and change the MC move speed to like 1 half of what it normally is.

This man, right here, is a fucking hero. The rest of you are stupid, if you can't even read this thread that he linked then you do not deserve help.

Also, onion, shut up you know nothing about animations.

Welcome to Halo Custom Edition.

In this game we use the Halo Editing Kit (HEK) provided by Bungie/Gearbox to create user created content! Learning how to use this kit to it's fullest and make user created content will probably take you at least a year. If you are not up for the challenge of learning how to use the HEK and all of the community created add-ons and extras then you will never be able to make your character walk instead of run.

Now stop being a noob 007useless, learn to use the search feature and do basic research. We as a community do not like to spoon-feed information to people who are to stupid or lazy to learn the HEK.

Okay calm down. Barley got Halo Ce about 3 months ago. I saw HEK before and I was going to download it but I never got around to that. I'm sorry I'll download it right now okay.

Wait wait wait... You mean you asked the question before you had HEK even installed?

If so -> :lmao:

No wonder you had no idea what we were talking about.

Yea, sorry about that. Didn't really know I needed HEK

Oh, and another thing I need help on. How do you add those picture as your signature?

Never mind about last reply.

Use the edit button next time instead of triple posting, thanks. Also, go here (http://www.modacity.net/forums/announcement.php?f=2) and read up on this forum's rules, including what dimensions your signature is allowed to be. ~Timo

007useless please go to halomaps.org where most beginners go, once you have advanced then come back.

No offence to other members of halomaps.org because alot of advanced members are members there :)

Uh guys I'm pretty sure he was asking how to walk during normal gameplay... the same way you would if you barely pressed left stick on Xbox :|

If that is what you were asking, there's an app posted somewhere around here that lets you do that, but it won't work online

The easiest way to do that is to make your crouch key into a walk key. The information was already posted, and the app that was mentioned if I recall correctly used an actual Xbox controller to change the player movement speed depending on the threshold the controller put out.

The walking method with the crouch key will only work in maps your compile, and the app will only work in SP, either way if you want to use it for something I'd go the biped route.

That app only read an analog stick to get how fast the player should be moving and in what direction, and nothing more; even when barely moving, you will be doing a run animation. It was like that in the XBox version, too; go watch the episode of Red vs. Blue where Sarge exchanges two robots to Church for Donut and you'll see what I mean.

Walking/running states based on movement speed wasn't implemented until Halo 2. The only two ways of getting a biped to walk and look like it's walking are to

A) Modify the chief's animations data to replace the crouch animation with walking animations
B) Set up a scripted event (extremely complicated) where an AI encounter goes into an "alert" state, and they walk around.

Both methods require you to know how to work the HEK, and will only affect maps you create.

^This, I remember in your "Resident Evil" map it was like that. You had the cyborg walk around, and look, until he found the elite or something.

And that's what he was asking for if I interpreted it correctly. If not, oh well.

No I don't know where to get it.

Didn't Patrick make it? If so, I could try to track him down and beat him up for it.
