I'm trying to change some settings in the 'Problem Solutions and Reports' part of the control panel, but it's telling me I need to be an administrator to do so. But according to User Accounts I am. Searching the interwebs tells me that I need to hunt down the exe and tell it to run as an administrator, but there has to be a better way. Has anyone else run into this problem and know a fix? I've tried demoting myself to a regular user by creating another administrator (Steve, who couldn't change the settings either), and promoting my account to administrator but it didn't work, as well as re-enabling UAC.

Odd it lets me do it no problem.

Try disabling UAC temporarily?

Perhaps (and this is *very* unlikely, but possible) you have a rootkit which demoted "administrators" to give itself more power than you?

Very very very unlikely... but who knows.
