Awesome movie once again. watched it twice, just incredible some of the revelations you get. The work and status quo hit me the hardest due to some personal things going on in my life, it was always something at the back of my mind that i couldnt give a clear or definitive answer for.
now it just makes sense.

I've always said money is debt. As a society the United States dollar is useless to us. It really only comes into play when we want to interact with the banks to get something we cant afford. Otherwise, trading will always prevail and happen just as it has since the dawn of humanity. IE - You have something I want, so I'll get you something you want or do something you consider equal in value to what I want.
It's a common thing for people in my area to do yardwork/etc. and get payed with a good meal. But no, when people want something, they go to a bank with nothing to ask for it with only a promise that they'll give what they take back and more.

It was better than the first one because it didn't devolve into more or less solid silliness in the last half hour. I liked it a lot, and I share many of the viewpoints that it promoted.
I'm not sure I'm ready for the complete abolition of the monetary system, but I would definitely support steps to one by one turn products into government services, and later, into human rights. I like the idea of fixing the sources of problems, making them impossible instead of taking steps to discourage them.
As for religion, I enjoyed that, while they denounced ritual and allegiance, they said that religion should evolve into pure ethics and philosophy. I like to think I am a pious person, but only ruled by the moral teachings and historical thought of my faith.
Thanks for the link zilla baby

I watched the rest of it and all those things I couldn't fully envision for Evolution's single player became fully visible and realized.
If I can find my old notes, I can probably get the single player written in no time.

I remember I tried to watch that some years back. Struck me as a bunch of bologna. Didn't make it very far into it.

It's got me hooked. I may have tried to watch it before but I thought it was too long. Seems like an awful lot of effort to make a two hour video of bullshit.

The first one was about 9/11 or something right?
Or was it about how religion is a lie?
Watching this one now.
Edit: Looks like they learned how to use Final Cut Pro and After Effects! :D :D :D.

I do have to say that I am impressed by the video and that a lot of it does make sense. I have always thought that people should work towards the betterment of humanity as a whole instead of for selfish interests. A lot of my ideals match up with the ideals put out in this video.
However, I want to see where they got that magical 4,000 GJ figure of easily accessible thermal energy.
Btw, at the very least this video is worth a watch. If not for the history lesson involved, watch it because it will make you think. Not necessarily about there being some massive world wide conspiracy aimed at turning us all into slaves of money or whatever, but just pure, unadulterated thought. We need more of that.

From what I've read, mostly lava tubes.

A lot of that energy would be lost in transporting it from the plant to the end user though. :|

My understanding with Geothermal is that it is essentially a giant steam engine - water is pumped down through pipes or whatever deep into the earth (where it is hotter) and it evaporates, creating steam. This steam then rises back up and turns a generator - now we have a geothermal energy collection thingy.
You have to dig pretty deep to get down to that level. It is only effective in areas where there is heavy geothermal activity - otherwise you need to dig down very deep in order to get enough heat. That is why I thought it wasn't particularly effective.
I guess every bit helps though. You could combine that with massive wind and polar solar farms along with some other sources and power the world for a while, assuming you got the scale up.
Put some solar panels in the Sahara and you could probably power Africa. xD.

This was definately better than the first one... although I'm not sure I'd say it had less conspiracy, possibly more because of the accusations they make, which are also very easy to believe. I'm always skeptical, but this video is very convincing... not to mention I already hate everything that this video is trying to "take down".
*pulls all his money out of bankofamerica* rofl... I love the intstructions too haha, I'ma join the zeitgeistmovement.com too XD.
E: wow... im disappointed.. The Venus Project has a thing asking for donations...
If this is a scam, then I wish I thought of it first, cuz its a damn good one, so much for money being debt.
E2: [ot] I also think I just found a topic for my research project...

All things need money to operate in this current economy. Of course they're going to need donations to operate, because that's how our economy operates. Something as anti government as the Venus Project would be hard pressed to get any funding from anyone. That's why they're looking to the people.
Besides, your not giving them your money anyway, your giving them the governments money, to use it against them. What's more important, hope or McNuggets.
To all the nay sayers, you'd wanna hope your right, because the way the worlds heading, the end of something is imminent within the next 50 years, whether it be the earths sustainable environment or our personal freedom.
I guess time will tell, when the next "911" takes place, then we can all safely agree that something needs to change. I'm not however going to wait for that to happen. It's only a matter of time. I'm confident it's allready planned, whatever it is.
