So I got this Homebrew channel. Basically a third party channel that has a bunch of cool features, even list of apps and games that you can download via your Wii, and even update the apps whenever available.

op1V5eWpTQQ

It's pretty cool, has a bunch of apps, allows support for imported games, and has emulators and third-party games. Including...

...

QUAKE. WITH WII CONTROLS.

What's really fucking sad is Quake feels a lot better than some of the games that are already out there for the Wii...

What's cool is it supports mods and full version, too. If you have the full Quake you can just drag and drop the .pak files.

No multiplayer yet.

How do you get the channel? And does it void your warranty?

Is it legal?
Is it supported by nintendo?
Prolly not, but if so, it would be one hellova step in the right direction ------->
Just like that ------------------------------------------------------^

I'm honestly not a 100% sure if it is legal or not, but Nintendo doesn't seem to be doing much about it. Also, the hombrew channel is 100% NOT endorsed by Nintendo.

The Hombrew Channel may void your warranty as you are doing something that can brick your Wii, and is not what Nintendo intended for you to do.

Here is a tutorial on how to install the homebrew channel:

Ok, to install the beta 0.8 homebrew Channel. This will allow you to have the homebrew channel saved next to all your other channels, like this:

What you will need:

1 x Wii
1 x Wiimote
1 x Nunchuck
1 x Zelda Twilight Princess Game
1 x SD Card
1 x Card Reader for PC
To get install the homebrew channel, you will need to run the zelda twighlight hack. Firstly format your SD card to FAT on your PC, then put the correct region zip to the root of your SD card:

Europe.zip (http://www.consolespot.net/forums/attachments/wii-hacking-tuning-customization/6566d1219686827-tutorial-installing-homebrew-channel-beta-8-europe.zip)
USA.zip (http://www.consolespot.net/forums/attachments/wii-hacking-tuning-customization/6567d1219686904-tutorial-installing-homebrew-channel-beta-8-usa.zip)
Japan.zip (http://www.consolespot.net/forums/attachments/wii-hacking-tuning-customization/6568d1219687069-tutorial-installing-homebrew-channel-beta-8-japan.zip)

Now go to your wii management. Delete your zelda save game and then go to SD card. Copy the Wii twilight hack save to your wii system and then run zelda.

Load the game from the twilight save:

Now move forward and tallk to the man in front of you. You have now triggered the stack smash. You should now see:

Ok, now follow the instructions to install the homebrew channel permanently, so you will never need zelda again. You should see this:

And now you have successfully installed the channel run it

The only downside is that Nintendo may one day make an update that will brick your console if you have the HBC installed and therefore I do not always recommend this for those of you who are new. Team Twiizers are the first to test each new nintendo update to ensure it is safe. Remember to enjoy and, IF YOU WANT TO INSTALL THIS CHANNEL I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILTY FOR BRICKING OR DAMAGES TO YOUR WII.

Here are a list of fully working emulators fo the Wii Homebrew Channel:

NES (http://www.consolespot.net/forums/wii-homebrew/11564-nes-emulator.html)-----SNES (http://www.consolespot.net/forums/wii-homebrew/13512-release-snesxgx-003-a.html)-----GBA (http://www.consolespot.net/forums/wii-homebrew/13509-release-vba-7-24-08-a.html)-----N64 (http://www.consolespot.net/forums/wii-homebrew/11632-n64-emulator-wii.html)-----SEGA GENESIS (http://www.consolespot.net/forums/wii-homebrew/11631-sega-genesis-emulator-wii.html)

Remember do not ask for roms.

It's pretty much the most awesome thing ever. Basically, if you don't want to regret your Wii, get this.

You think an update would cause this to brick the system? If so I'm glad updates are optional.

... I think... I don't know. I mean, seriously, how often does the Wii get updates?

Also: the N64 emulation fucking sucks
