Yea, I'm just wondering if there's any way that i can put the assault rifle from cmt snowgrove, to regular halo pc.

Mod pc to use those bitmaps instead. There you go.

Okay. Something went wrong. I went from this:

to this:

But i want my AR to look like this for regular halo:

Your shader references are fuxed. If this was CE, it'd be a mere tagging issue, but since this is PC, it's a little harder to diagnose the problem.

Keep in mind that Halo PC is very particular about texture resolutions; if you inject a texture that's higher/lower than the original, things tend to get lost in translation. The original AR texture is 512x512, while I believe CMT's is 2048x2048 (correct me if I'm wrong.)

Try injecting a downsized bitmap into another vanilla map. Don't do it into the one you already screwed up, as that won't help.

Hmmm i can't figure out out to change the size of the .dds file. Mr. ifafudafi. I'm not quite sure that you know what your talking about. XD o well. I'll figure it out soon

Get a plugin for photoshop or whatever that lets you open and save .dds files, open it, downsize it, save it and then use that.

Unlike most people. I don't have photoshop. I had the trail but I didn't know a keygen that would help me get it for free. So yea. Trail period of photoshop is done :D So I think I might try MS paint or maybe even photobucket. I'll try tomarrow or Friday. If ya stumble across a file that has cmt snowgrove AR tags. Please give link.

The Halo assault rifle has at least 5 or so different shaders that make up the gun; the metal, the grip, the screen, the numbers, and the ejection port (if I recall correctly). Each shader references the same three bitmaps (except the numbers and screen), and then applies different properties to them.

CMT's assault rifle is a completely rebuilt, custom model. Texture mapping coordinates (which are what tells the skin where to go on the model) seem to be different for the CMT rifle than the stock one, and obviously the shaders are different as well.

This requires much more than a simple bitmap swap.

p0lar, read the post FR linked him to:
http://www.modacity.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4702

These are the old bitmaps, they share the same UV's and model.

Also 007, we don't condone piracy discussion but I'll link you to a free image editing program and a dds plugin for it:

actually, the only difference in the model would be the display screen. cmt's has 3 different screens to display the blue, yellow, and red. as they are animated to change screens when firing.

The one in the released CMT maps have a little more "glossy" look, while these ones have a little more "solid" look, via more detail.

Wouldn't that be a shader effect tied to the gun's loaded ammo count?

No, it's done with separate models and animations iirc. It doesn't matter. The only real difference I see with CMT's old one and the original was that it has edited shaders, the top of the model is flattened off, and it has custom animations.

didn't it have a somewhat edited model? I seem to remember small details that weren't in the original. Pics later when I'm on my PC if I still give a fuck
