Halo mod recently undergoing development for Quake engine, designed to be used on the PSP with multiplayer support.

Discuss.

I, for one, think crossovers are awesome, and always thought a Halo mod for another FPS would be awesome. HaloUT failed, so hopefully this will turn out better.

Judging by the gameplay videos it doesn't feel like Halo. I also don't really see the point of a de-make... :<

In before this gets shut down by M$ like every other halo mod.

MS only shuts down mods that potentially cause losses of profits.

Well tbh, it's pretty easy to recreate Halo 1 stuff, since we've got all of these tools that let us get at the raw data in Halo CE you can just rip most of it.

They're doing it from scratch.

Then their doing a terribly good job of recreating all the halo 1 textures and models. :downs:

Better than being a bunch of asshole rippers though :V

That "bloodgulch" map looks terribly wrong.

Pretty cool, the maps are a letdown though, they should be remakes of the originals (obviously lower resolution).

I was disappointing at the bloodgulch, the weapons look decent though.

I think bloodgulch was just a test map for their textures/base models. If not, o.O

The Bloodgulch was like a cross between it and Infinity with a whole bunch of ugly thrown in.

This seems cool enough, though I also find the maps a huge letdown. Everything else looks decent enough, though more work could be done on the AR, and a few other things. Pistol looks awesome though.

Hopefully this'll help. But who knows with the limitations of the Quake engine

Not really. Look at the differences in the pistol and sniper model. This looks like it might be fun to play, but not really high quality. The animations are bleh too.

Those maps are awful, in all honesty, even given the limitations of the platform and engine. Hopefully they get some real maps before they release. What's the point of portable Halo if all the maps are awful?

I think it's a good start. You have to consider, they've only been developing for a few months, and I think they should be working on functionality over anything else at this point. Maps should come after they get the feel of the weapons right.

Most games have a few test rooms that are mostly empty to test the way everything works. Anyone remember the crazy Debug room with the checkerboard floor from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask?

Which is why I helped with the weapon info, help them get the feel down. Then they can build from there.

Seeing those editor screenshots brings back happy memories of Q3 mapping.
I miss those days.
