Ok, currently my internet connection is fine, running from about 25 ping, no latency, quick downloads, ect, ect.....
Well I go onto steam to play team fortress 2 as usual and on servers where my ping is 8-16 I come up with 450 ping, and most servers have latency of 800 or higher. Well, I go onto synergy, garrys mod, and insurgency and I get the exact same thing. Well, thinking it might be steam, I go and close steam and start up halo custom edition...only to get the same thing! This has been happening for 3 days now and is really getting on my nerves, any ideas?

But the actual connection is fine to everything for the game, if it was something that the isp could handle then would it not effect more than just game connectivity, everything else runs smoothly internet wise.

Well, for the longest time I had a terrible connection when playing videogames, but perfectly fine when online, even downloading large files. Turns out Comcast was rate-limiting me because the games sent so many small packets (as opposed to the fewer, larger packets of downloads).

But I haven't had that problem in ages. I suppose all the flak they took about bittorrent made them improve their load-balancing methods.
