Five days and counting before it's in stores, who is getting it?

I've already pre-ordered mine, did it from best buy for the free remote control tank, plan on heading there after my classes to get it.

Personally, I'm really excited, I enjoyed the Gears of War SP and am really intrigued by the Horde mode, the promises of a updated MP mode with added features and fixes to some annoying bugs also highly interests me.

I've got it pre-ordered too; looks like awesome and win condensed into a DVD.

While I enjoyed GoW1's single-player more, I'm actually kind of excited for GoW2's multiplayer aspect; all the changes they've made (stopping power, new executions, awesome new modes, Horde, etc.) should really help balance the game and make it so that you don't have to know every little intricate detail and exploit in order to survive. (I'm looking at you, corner-glitchers)

But still, I'm loving the look of the single-player as well. I'm worried that trying to inject emotion into the game's massive steroid-bags will just hurt rather than help the story, but I'm excited to see where it goes nonetheless. Also Brumak riding :awesome:

From everything I've seen, I have every reason to believe this will be one of the best games I've ever played. I'm counting down the seconds until Friday.

Really happy about the release date. Im going to be able to have a party for it cause the day it comes out I dont have school, so I can do a midnight release party :) Gears 1 was a pretty sweet game and hopefully two will fix all the flaws 1 had while introducing new things to make the gameplay even better

Liked Gears of War, but I think I'm just going to wait until Christmas to get this. Never really got into the whole GoW2 hype and such, so it's not like I'll be dying to play this. It's still on my Top 10 list of games I want this holiday season though :)

The final boss is the worst final boss outta any game ive played in a very long time. The ending was just terrible. The boss looks badass, but the fight is soooooo bad :(

Game is sick, I'm not a fan of all the new sounds for guns. To me they didnt fit them correctly.

I played part of a level for it, I assume it was the first level, picking up the dead guy using him as shield is pretty sick only quirel I have is whether this movable temporary bit of cover will be used too much. I never liked the MP in GoW mainly because I sucked at it but still it just seemed not too great, the new MP I'm looking forward to.

As stated previously, the new balancing should greatly improve the multiplayer. Here's what I've seen/heard:

-Stopping power. Immediately kills shotgun/melee/grenade/etc. rushers and makes coming out of cover a little more risky.
-Perfectly reloaded sniper shot is no longer an instant down. Also good, makes headshotting more of a focus.
-Drastically improved netcode. No more leading your shots! (!!)
-Awesome new gametypes, including some ones involving respawning.
-Exe-fucking-cutions.
-Carmine is unlockable!

And that's not all.

(I tried playing some GoW1 multiplayer earlier yesterday, but all the bouncing and shotgunning had me put the controller right back down.)

Well, I was playing the game today, but I only got to play Horde mode on Day Zero which is very fun, although it does get very repetitive. Didn't get a chance to try out the campaign though, so I'll have to wait until Christmas to try that.

I've been playing for the past hour and Horde mode is extremely fun.

Just beat it. It was probably the best game I have played in a long time. I recommend if you have an Xbox 360 that you buy this game.

Yeah. Thats probably one of the only bad things about the game. All the other boss fights were amazing.

Yeah, finalboss was lame, but everything else is friggin' awesome. I also did some multiplayer, and they've actually managed to get rid of most of the bouncing around that plauged the first game. It's like, you know, fun.

Need to go to sleep, but I'll be up all day playing tomorrow. <3 Weekend releases.

Noticed two things in multiplayer.

1) I have not gotten a single game on matchmaking. It just wont find any
2) when playing against the bots, if you use a smoke grenade and it explodes near them (did this on gridlock) they will get knocked over then float away into the air. o_O

Word is in, bots suck.

Even on Insane difficulty, all they do is sit there behind their cover until you ram a chainsaw in their face. They stand still all the time, making perfect sniping targets, take forever to analyze and respond to situations, and other stupid shit.

Once everybody finishes the campaign and gets off Horde, though, there should be some multiplayer. If you sucked at Gears 1's MP, don't let that drive you away; this one is much more balanced and fun.

I'm a bit confused on how to beat the Hydra. Shooting the fucker in the mouth with the machine gun doesn't seem to effect it. He kills me the third time he bites my reaver. Help please?

The game is extremely good though, the point where the Centaur lost power and all those corpsers started appearing I found myself saying "move...Move.....MOVE GODDAMNIT!!!!" As in the game keeps me on the edge of my seat. Its extremely fun. :P

Who ever voices the queen needs a medal, the voice fits perfectly.

EDIT: Christ I feel stupid..shoot the claws and not the mouth.

No, to kill the fish you sprint into its mouth and look for the glowing blue tentacles and shoot them each. Then, when the mouth thing (you'll know when I see it) opens up, throw a frag into it. Do this 2-3 times (once if you're on casual) and you've won.

Idk what bots you're fighting, but the ones I am are fun to play and can be challenging at times. I just play them on normal. Sometimes bots on a higher scale will OVERUSE some features, such as the cover feature. Normal makes the AI not as smart, but it makes them a bit more fun to play in my opinion.

The game is awesome... but not perfect. Since I'm lazy, I'll quote good old Kantham on BUF.

Lancer is for clueless who think this game is tactical by holding the B button running at your foes with this invincible chainsaw. The hammer burst delivers way more damage, anyone with a lancer in front of me without cover can't stand up against it.

The first gears is so much better (I don't mind the shotgun much, but the match making is a big Halo 3 - wannabe joke period, plus all the other game flaws). They've just made another UT3. And funnily, I can only think about Mike Capps right now. Everything's getting ****ed up in Epic Games ever since he's controlling out there.

As for our old friend Cliffy. He doesn't have much fame right now, "More Bigger and more Badass" isn't much as we thought it would be. Hey, you WILL get complains on a console game as well, why not just stick to PC and make the competitive community proud? Deliver Beta's so their game doesn't get only tested by your low graded testers some 12 years old would have better experience about glitching a game. Dude, I know what you mean. I had a lot before, but now I'm broke. Good game that occupies boredom though. :D
