Awww come on, be creative, here is some ideas right off the back.
- Stored in handle is poison that comes out of a slit in the tip of the knife.
- A knife that vibrates so it will not get stuck in flesh and can be easily removed.
- A dagger that emits an pressurized air blast from the back to swipe twice as fast.
- A trench pike that spins
The ideas are endless!

-Something as long as A knife that vibrates so it will not get stuck in flesh and can be easily removed.
I think you meant that. :3

In all seriousness, I'd try to add more to the hilt, maybe adding a few gems, putting a nice design on it, like a leaf/branch type one that elves would use. I'd also make it thinner. Maybe make the blade a little curvy too, and make the ridges a bit longer.

I think he is going for modern military type knifes.

Yeah, I think I got a little carried away there. Well, if that's the case, then I'm sorry, but I don't know much about modern weapons.

This. I really don't know what to do with it. A knife isn't that complex of an object after all. >_>

a dagger gun? a knife gun? a knife that shoots blades? a dagger that when you press a button, pops out more blades? duo sided dagger? extremely long dagger? nunchuk daggers?

I'm going for something realistic/modern here, not the fucking 3 in 1 lightsaber swiss army knife from Alpha Centauri

reduce the diameter of the triangular grip, maybe add a clip edge, a way to attach to a bayonet lug, etc, and possibly a large hilt or pommel.

Just do a little research, look at some combat knives from films like Rambo or Westerns, or just look on wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knives <---this is kinda general, might help you come up with some ideas of your own. Good luck

What I do not get is that everyone is designing their knifes to be held by hands.... why not have one strapped to your helmet? Be creative.

Well then it wouldn't be a knife.

Why not? A knife is a simply a small blade with a handle, doesn't matter if its strapped to your head.... So if I go and grab the knife on my desk and duct tape it to my head it will no longer be a knife...? You interest me greatly.

No, you'll be an idiot.

Well you could do that, but it'd be stupid beyond belief and utterly pointless in combat

Never said it was useful, was just saying to be creative and it can technically be done, would be interesting to see one concealed in a helmet and when you're tied up... head butt them, though I could not fathom hwo they would fit it in there.

Nothing very "technical" about that. And why would they tie you up but leave your knifehelmet on? That'd be blatantly obvious. Ducttape and all.

Thus the reason I said I could not fathom how they would put it in there, meaning that how they would hide it. L2Read.
