Hey guys,
I'm getting a ps3 (80gb) and i would like to know if it is possible to record tv on it like a dvr or tivo. I live in New york and I have HD cable (if that matters).
I found something called playTV but i think its UK only.
I am open to any methods to accomplishing it.
Thanks.
i know i misspelled RECORD in the tile, sorry.

Try getting a capture card, those work wonders.

Uh yeah, you just hook the PS3 into the input jacks on the recorder.
However, last time I tried this with my DVD recorder, there was about a half-second delay from pressing a button to it actually showing the result on the TV. Not sure if your recorder will do it or not, though.

Umm, aren't capture cards the same for a 360, PS3, or anything else? I don't know about you, but with my capture card, you can plug in anything that you can plug into a tv (forget the name of the plugs, but it's the yellow, red and white ones.)

composite connectors (yellow = video, red and white = sound)

I didn't. I win.
Linux would be your best bet, I don't think the PS3 has a built in function.
